Out on the road this afternoon about 3.30. Two solid lines of traffic going passed some shops. Clutch in, just rolling. Theres a brief screech of tyres and then that sickening sound of two cars hitting each other. Bending metal and breaking glass. I hear its right behind me. In an instant l let the clutch out and shot forward up the gap betwèn the two cars in front. In my mirrors just behind me l see a van and a car at crazy angles.
Pleased l went forward, l could very easily have been part of that.
Makes me wonder if someone may have been texting. Just should'nt have crashed at that speed. Like l say l had my clutch in so traffic was barely moving.
Just kept going but l assure you the old jam tart was pumping overtime.
Pleased l had my wits about me and was not directly behind the car in front.  :boogie2:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Sounds like good defensive riding on your part!  There are some real plonkers on the roads...

Glad your safe @Kiwifruit
On our way home from holiday yesterday it started raining as we got to the Edinburgh bypass at rush hour .
So we filtered for about 30 miles I could not believe the number of drivers who were using thier phones as we passed .
As I passed a girl in a dark green mini with no lights on I took a second glance she threw her phone and accelerated in to the gap in front so to pulled up beside her when she stopped again and asked to open her window .I said I was very lucky I was off dutie as she would have got 6points and £1000.
She said but what about all the folks she she's on thier phones I said police Scotland have unmarked bikes and are going to be sending them out into traffic hotspots to catch as many as they could in order to reduce the number of people using phones so be warned .
She thanked me lol
Me and Emma carried on still seeing loads on thier phones.
Unbelievable.

Good to hear you are ok KF  :clapping:

Close escape there Col, sounds like very lucky not to have been part of it.  On the bright side, there's possibly some new work for ya!
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

grog

Great work Col, no damage is a good result. As for asking someone to wind window down in traffic, not a good idea here. Too many agro drivers.

KiwiCol

Agree Grogg, don't think I'd try that here either.
