How much do you pay for your traffic insurance / year or / km?
I pay 117€ / year (full bonus) and ride 12 000 km / year (average), it makes about 1 cent / km.

Traffic Insurance?   Ya mean insurance on the Bike for theft, fire etc?

It seems, not every country have traffick insurance: it basically insurance of driver responsibility, what will cover cost of damage for victim in case of traffick accident. In our countries (Estonia and Finland) it's obligatory to have it for every road legal vehicle.
i think, all EU countries have something like this.

KiwiCol

That insurance is covered in our 'normal' insurance.

Is your normal insurance also covering your demage, if your are the guilty side? If no, then your normal, and our traffick is the different names of the same thing.

KiwiCol

Yes, it covers everything. My damage, damage I do to other vehicle or property, fire, theft etc.  Could be why our premiums are a bit dearer, we pay 1 lot not 2.  Mind you, Insurance here is optional!!  You don't have to have it, but if you don't & have an accident, all costs come back to you.

in our case - responsibility insurance is obligatory, self insurance is optional.
It's to expensive for bikes, but both my cars have it.

@T 24  this year, obligatory insurance from 20.04.2018 - 04.11.2018 (199 days) cost me 54,15€ - lowest price on the market.
Actually, I do not understand, how do insurance companies calculate price. 1 Year insurance form me, for my 14 varies from 100€ till 255€.
Also I purchase bike insurance from different company when my cars - even I'm getting best price for cars (long time client) their price was 26% higher then I eventually pay.

Mister Fishfinger

In the UK the minimum legal requirement is "third party" cover. In other words, it covers any damage you might cause to someone else but you don't get anything yourself if the accident was your fault.

This is quite rare though. Most people have at least third party, plus fire damage and theft cover.

Then the top level of cover is "fully comprehensive". That fixes damage to your own vehicle as well as damage to others. A lot of policies throw in other stuff to, like legal cover (in case you have to sue someone), damage to your riding kit, sometimes even breakdown and recovery. Most of us on here are not so young any more, which is a drag in many ways but at least it means we can afford this type of policy because we aren't a risky group. Mine is just over £200 for the GSX.

Try BeMoto, they have been good to me and their renewal was the best by far for me.

You have to shop around these days,I haven't had the same insurer for last four years.Would never go back to Bennetts though, they said they couldn't offer me insurance even though I have never claimed with anyone .I suspect it was because I asked for proof of ncd just before my policy with them ran out.
