I've seen worse...A lot worse :onya:

My Honda 400/4 was in a right mess when I got it..Only paid £100 though.
Turned out good in the end :imrgreen:

Thanks Col.
This was done in six months. Before I had internet too..So sourcing parts and finding people to do powder coating etc wasn't as easy as it would be now.
I enjoyed doing it and said I'd never do another complete rebuild..I've done about 4 or 5 since then :imrgreen:
I actually sold the 400/4 not that long after rebuilding it as it was sitting in the garage not being ridden and was starting to deteriorate again. It was bought by a Japanese dealer and shipped back out to Japan. I had everything for it too..Even the original bill of sale!!

I DO have to grow old, I DO NOT have to grow up.

KiwiCol

But it didn't even have a gearbox? You could make the whole thing, gears & shafts n selectors or whatever they have in there.  Oh well, if I see something worse, I'll bung a link up for ya to peruse.

Never rode one of the small 4-cylinder Hondas but I do like the sewing machine concept. And they do look pretty. Maybe something for the living room. Always drool over the 550 that's displayed at my local Louis shop. Same goes for the 3-cylinder 2-strokes at my Suzuki dealer though. And...

Andre, never liked the 500/550 honda either, just a cheap mans 750, which i love. 3 cyl suzuki, different sort of fish. a 550 and 4 750 ive owned. never owned a 380 but ridden a few. 550 was awesome unbreakable bike, as quick as 750, proved it. 3 of my gt750 were stock. my L model, i built expansion chambers, ported motor same as flat track usa racer. could blow off a kawa 900, fuel consumption was only problem. my life long mate still mentions it. bloody quick. gt750 bullet proof, not quite, every 5 th ks the brush for alternator wore out, i had spares in my pocket. 10 min. fix. id love to know the bhp for that L model. could wheelstand at will.
