The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

All done but won't be doing it again anytime soon and especially not in winter in a cold damp garage !  :)

Fantastic job.

Will you protect the finish with the tape ?
My garage floor will never rust

Sweaty

Great job, I'm sure he will be protecting it after all that hard work Buddy, well I hope so.

Actually after mirror polishing they won't need protecting with tape as the tape only protects the lacquer on the forks from chipping (so allowing corrosion underneath) and as the lacquer is now gone, no need to protect!

Very nice job Notty  :clapping:
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I had a look at the tape on e-bay.  $25 landed approx. for 2m @ 50mm wide. Now while that isn't a lot, it just covers the front, cause that's where the stones etc go, but, you'll still have to polish the back won't ya?
So, if you have to rub up the back, may as well do the front at the same time. Also, reckon you'd end up rubbing polish over the clear tape eventually & dulling it.

I've got nice shiny forks, less than 5 min a side to bring them back to mirror shine with some blue magic polish, so, I'm leaving the tape for now anyways.

Yep I'd agree on this. I also used Mothers Mag and Alloy polish which maintained the shiney finish
