Looks the same as my SJ4000 Action Cam. If it's as good, it's a bargain!
Comes with 8Gb Memory card as well

Mind you that single 1-star review might put me off - "Broke First Day"...

I have had one of these cheapie cameras for a year. Batteries don't like being charged whilst being used, but the video quality is really quite good. (New batteries available on ebay, around £10 for 4 with a charger)
If you are going to run out of fuel, do it in your garage.

It's only a short walk to the kettle.

Might just have been unlucky and got a bad one. I've had my SJ4000 for nearly 4 years now and gets used every time I ride in all weathers too.
Got to be worth a punt for £30.

You might also want to have a look at this one on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Waterproof-Wide-Angle-Mounting-Accessories-Swimming/dp/B01N3Q4DLS/

The spec seems to be a bit better. The Aldi one records 720p video and upscales it to 1080p, whereas the Apeman records natively at 1080p as far as I can tell.

The Aldi camera claims to have only a 1 megapixel sensor, but I think that's an error in the spec because the photo settings go up to 12M. The Aldi camera also includes a memory card, which doesn't seem to be the case with Apeman/Amazon. Given that they are the same price I might be tempted to try the one from Amazon, just for the video quality. There are also more expensive versions with better specs available.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried either.

Makes you wonder why people spend 6x that price on a GoPro.

Because they are humanists. See it as a donation to company execs and shareholders. :frustrated:

LOL you lot make me laff.. i have a GoPro for the fron and 2 yes TWO of these cheap versions for the rear and my god is the difference clear.. The video on the cheap ones is great in fact is brilliant right untill you compare it with the GoPro.. then it just looks shite.. The stability is just awefull on the cheapies..
Then there comes the battery options.. Gopros will last over two hours on a charge forever but after a few weeks your lucky to get an hour on the cheap ones.. Also there are battery eliminaters available for GoPro while still keeping it waterproof you can not do that with the 'others' unless you do some self modifications ( something not everyone is comfortable doing)..

When it comes to video recorders, lenses and sensors the old addage is VERY true.. You get what you pay for..

I am not biast to GoPro

This could not be further from the truth.. Like i say i use both but if i could afford it i would ONLY use GoPro or Drift as you just can not argue the difference once you have seen and used them.
So if i do stuff all all day and noone sees me do it.. Am i still a lazy git?

Andre

OK, I take your word for it. Nothing beats experience and direkt comparison.

I agree 100% with Proteous. I have tried the cheaper versions on the rear and they are not up to the same standard as GoPro's, nor do their batteries last anywhere near as long. The quality from the GoPro camera's is (IMO) much superior - so much so that I now have 2 GoPro's one for the front, the other for the rear, the rear one replacing the cheaper Chinese one that I had on there before.

Having said that the SJCAM's are very good - when I say that I mean the original pukka SJCAM's (not one of the copies), esp the SJ4000 (although battery usage is high). STill not as good at changing light conditions as the GoPro, but still good quality pictures nevertheless.

And with my GoPro's not overly expensive either - I run a pair of GoPro 3's, perfectly good, no need to update to later versions. And cheap enough for general use on the bike.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

While we're talking about Aldi..
They've got some wireless Bluetooth earphones in at the moment..£29.99.
I don't think they'd be any good for wearing with a lid on but my Son's GF bought some and they're really good. A similar set from Sony are £200!!

I'll be getting a pair tomorrow to wear at work..Well, one of them anyway :imrgreen:
