Well, someone had to.

Although I didn't,

I suppose I did.

As previously mentioned, I recently bought my 14 but have not finished it's New home so it's staying at a friend's  barn. I asked him to fire it up weekly to keep lubes and the battery charged.

Got a call this morning " your bike starts but only runs for 2 or 3 seconds then stops, did it twice but don't want to flatten the battery"

I tool up the car with my stomach churning as to what it could be, threw a petrol can in the boot, thought I would put some "fresh" fuel in as I did not know how long the fuel had been in the tank. On arrival I put the fuel in (5 ltrs) then ignition on clutch, pressed button and VROOM!

Forgot how good it sounds  :)

So, I guess I am first to run out of fuel, unless you know different..............
If you are going to run out of fuel, do it in your garage.

It's only a short walk to the kettle.

Mate, just did 20ks to work with both bits flashing, must be close to gone. I was happy to get over the last hill.

You are definitely the only person I know of that has run out of fuel while not riding.  :clapping:

The reserve as far as I'm concerned is when the last bar & bowser are flashing together Col. That I think means there's 2 litres left & maybe 20km to 30kms before dry so don't push your luck. :onya:
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

Few months ago I also ran out of fuel 5 kms far from home . But after filling it up calculated that there was still cca 1.5l of fuel in tank.  Also before cleaning teabag filter my bike could not start (empty tank) but when disconected fuel line came out almost 2 litres of fuel! Little confused   :confused1:

Wished I had been running on fumes when in Luxembourg. Filled up with 13 liters. That saved enough € for a big portion of fries and a large coffee. This season I'll visit that country more often. Some nice riding there and lots of cool routes to get there through Ardennes and Eifel.

Now that seems like a plan for the summer.......   :8:
