GSX1400 Exhaust Headers

After following a post on Farcebook about GSX1400 headers..Could someone confirm please.
Early systems were chrome plated steel and double skinned.
FE with 4 into 1 are stainless headers, but still double skinned..NOT single skinned.

your info is correct
the later stainless headers are larger internal diameter than the earlier chrome ones but both are double skinned .
downtubes from any model  still fit both older 4-2 and later 4-1 collector box's.

Some were saying that K7 were stainless single skinned as standard

only 2 part numbers for down pipes early chrome and later stainless ones .
most aftermarket down pipes are single skin as much cheaper to make and why they go discoloured so easily and give a slight power increase over standard.
its also been said many times  that if you convert a later(k5 onward) to 4-2 to keep the later downpipes as a slight power increase over early chrome downpipes.
all 14's from k5 on use same exhaust system but some k6 fe models had the yoshi link pipe and end can as a dealer mod and why i have 3 never fitted bazooka cans brand new in my loft .

Seth, you should get Essex's one & you could have a set of 4, new, never used bazooka's in the loft.
Or better still, fit them up as a 4 into 4!      Imagine that, 4 bazookas on 1 bike.  She'd be a thing to behold alright. 


Hell, maybe someone on here, with some photoshop skills could do us up a pic of what that'd look like.  It'd give Red nightmares forever seeing that, and probably a few others too. 


Even better, copy one of the recent pic's of Reds bike, photoshop 4 shiny chrome bazookas onto it & post it up!  Poor Red would never be able to look at his bike the same way again.

i need to tune the b/w 14 even more just to be able to go with that much weight on it and not sure if my loft can take the load of another bazooka

Its exactly as Seth says.

Dunno who "some" are but they are talking toffee and clearly have no idea what they are talking about.

id love to see photoshop of 4 bazookas. i cant do it, someone surely. ill treasure the campbells look with bazookas.
