your comments gentlemen, i find this one of the best new suzuki models for a long time. id like one in shed, next to 14. rode early ones couple of yrs ago, snatchy throttle etc. supposedly more grunt and probs fixed. looks good to me. you blokes will have more thoughts. https://www.totalmotorcycle.com/motorcycles/2018/2018-suzuki-gsxs1000Z-abs-review

Yes, I tried an early one too.
Fuelling was awful at low revs and badly needed a re-map.

They would make a fun toy but for me I think the novelty would ware off.
No good for pillions, doesn't have the "Big bike" feel I like, there's a 1200 conversion but its not cheap! and I already have one bike with a 16.5ltr tank and it annoys me, this has a 17ltr.

I'm sure some folk will like it, if it had a 22ltr tank and a 1300 motor I'd be more interested, or at least used the "Full Monty" GSXR spec motor not a detuned one.

As a 1000 it has a lot of competition with Z1000/Z900,  MT09 / MT10, Aprillia, Triumph Triples etc etc. It doesn't stand above the rest for me.
I'm not a huge fan of European brands but KTM, Ducati, Aprillia are all doing sporty nakeds over 1000cc.

I like big brute bikes.

Me too, because everyone was raving on about how awesome they were.

I hated it.

I may be in the market for another bike late next year.

There's nothing out there that ticks all the box's for me.

Not really into Euro bikes, price, 2 or 3 cylinders and not idiot proof enough.
Hate cruisers, no interest in cramped sportsbikes or dual role green lane bikes.

Just want a unrestricted big bore (1300/1400) inline 4,  Jap naked bike with a half decent spec (chain drive / USD front / monoshock / radial brakes / alloy frame etc) and no stupid 16 or 17ltr tank.

A naked Busa, but lighter like a GSX-S but without the B-Kings failings ?
A naked ZX14R. Kwak have jumped on the Z650 / Z900 bandwagon, why not a Z13 monster?

Suzuki have had some cracking bike bore bikes in their day.
Either class leaders or hooligan tools, stuff that was something special in its day.

The GSX1100ET/ET, 1000 and 1100 Katana's, the 1135E's, the Slabside and Slingshot GSXR1100's, the original Bandit 1200, the 1999 Hayabusa, of course the GSX1400.

I find it hard to get interested in a Suzuki showroom recently.

If I had a pile of cash today I'd probably look at a ZX14R or a new H2.

i agree Tony, the gsx i posted there best effort in a while i thought. visited yamaha shop last week, maybe im old skool but nothing impressed. they have bmw and ducati also, same story. i do love diavel but just for a ride, not to own. new model busa coming soon, wait n see.

We are over due a Gen-3 Busa.
Lots of rumours and if's and maybe's floating about but nothing solid.

It sells well for what it is, and I'm not sure Suzuki will change it dramatically.

Personally I'd like to see a factory turbo / supercharged version to steal the "MAD!" production bike crown from the Kawasaki H2.

In my dreams there'd be a naked Gen-3 but in reality Suzuki must still be remembering the poor sales from the oddball King so I won't hold my breath.

Busa engine also meets worldwide compliance / emissions so cast some cooling fin's onto the motor and hide the hoses and I'll have a modern GSX14 too please.

Yep Gen 3 Busa... just make a version with a sllghtly shorter wheelbase, and naked as you say, and avoid styling oddities - take cues from the GSX1400 and those other old school bikes you mention and there would be a winner for sure.

Looking at new Utes.

Wife chip's in with her opinion.
"Why don't you buy a cheaper Ute this year, 4x2 not 4x4,
petrol not diesel, then you could have an nice new bike next year too"

I could be talked into that !

a great idea, 2.7 hilux, excellent ute. sold mine at 200 th ks, still same as new. cheaper the ute, dearer the bike.

Yeah, 2.7 Workmate. I have a dealer a few streets from me. Sci Fleet Toyota at Kedron. $23,990 drive away but I may get a discount through work.

I sold my Triton a while back. 3ltr V6 auto. Went OK, took a lot of abuse but had a turning circle like the QE2 and drank fuel like the QE2 too !

A new Ute will see me into retirement. Base model ute makes a better bike affordable. Maybe not an H2, but a Busa, ZX14R or similar.

Excuse my ignorance, but is the ZX14 what we would know up here as a ZZR1400?

Yes. Over here the earlier ones were ZX14's, the later ones ZX14R's.
The R being the Kwak version of the Busa's "Gen-2".

To me the big Kwak is the only alternative to a Hayabusa.

There's been talk of Kwak using H2 type forced induction on a future ZX,
something they have proven works,  and of Suzuki doing a blown Gen-3,
something they have been smaller concept versions of, nice, but  I'll believe
it when I see one.

I took the GSX-S1000 for a decent test ride a few months back, I just found I couldn't get really comfy on it -maybe just me or the way I ride, but I found it "buzzy" - annoyingly so. It seemed to do all things well, but just not for me.
