meant to post this ages ago. the right angle vale extenders. made to make it easy to pump tyres. just dont use, can use but dont leave on permanently. i did. they vibrate and break valve stem rubber. i found out the hard way. tyre deflates in a few seconds. steel ones fitted to rim are all good. less than 5k to do it. if you have them on, get rid of them.

i keep it in my pocket i wouldn't leave it on all the time tho as seen the same kind of damage to valve stems in the past .

I found that after a spirited ride they became turned around and tyre had deflated slightly - I bought different ones on FleaBay but same thing happened so in the bin !!  its a bugger to check the tyres now but at least safe

I just put mine on when I'm topping up the tyres then stow them away with the compressor in my garage.

I carry a straight pump fitting that i can plug into an Aro air line coupling.
A few years ago a fella died in an accident when his front tyre suddenly deflated. Im guessing he had an angled valve stem failure.

I agree and disagree Batkwaka - there were a few articles a couple of years back where these right angled connectors were left on wheels, both facing outwards and in line with the spokes, both times on rubber valves. Whilst the tests with the connectors in line with the spokes fared a lot better, eventually the rubber valves split and gave way. Similar tests were done using some of these after market Tyre Pressure systems.

Where I would totally agree with you is if you have the rubber valves replaced with all metal right angled valves, as there is no flexible rubber then to split.

I've got metal right angle ones fitted to mine, different to your link Dave, but similar. Easier to inflate & doesn't seem to be huge amounts of extra weights added for balancing either.

I certainly wouldn't recommend keeping them on Barmy, I was just suggesting adding weight after your tyre is balanced may unbalance it again.
I like the BMW valve coming out of the spoke, it's very convenient.

I have similar on my Triumph Explorer, very easy to use.

I have the proper right angle valves fitted to the rims znd they are brilliant. Totally different from the extensions.
