is it me?? are bikers being drummed out of north wales?? undersized plates £100 a pop,baffles £100/300 a pop?? speeding from 35 mph upward £100 plus points?? without bikers PONDEROSA WOULD FOLD WITHIN 12 MONTHS, we went out last saturday saw the van at llangollen, gave him the benefit of the doubt,went to RHYL (for my sins) came out of the CRAP HOLEfilled with juice came over the hill saw the van i was 3rd in line, first lad triumph 675 got notifacation,of speeding 38 in a 30,ok, 5 days later mate at the rear triumph 675,35 mph, inbetween me and the wife 600 hornet 30 ish,me behind on the 14, still not got a ticket, all on the same day??? waiting with baited breath,SOMEONE HAS TO PAY FOR THE CHRISTMAS DO I SUPPOSE?

The Welsh police always have been rather "hot" on bikers, much more so than the British police IMO. I remember driving back from MCR6 the other year, never seen so many police out on biker routes over such a distance, and all cunningly hidden.

Maybe we do have to pay for Xmas!!!!

South wales seem to have some pretty good cops, only been pulled over by one once and that was to tell me to watch out for speed cops looking for an easy target

There are 4 police forces in Wales - North Wales -Dyfed Powys -South Wales-Gwent - and not all policemen are actually Welsh So are English police in lancashire the same as the English police in Kent ? don't think so. If you don't like North Wales then perhaps don't go there?

Really sorry mate, I must remember to make allowances for those thousands of miles from the UK.

Rhyl is a small seaside town that can most kindly be described as "in urgent need of some regeneration"

If they ever find unexploded ordnance there from world war two they have to handle it very carefully beacause if it went off it could cause millions of pounds worth of improvements.

There's a hill near my house. It's called Mount Glorious.
Bikers love it, its close to the city and has twisty roads.
Bikers speed and crash a lot there, a lot!
There was another bike down this morning by 10am.

(EDIT: 3 bikes down on Mt Glorious today)

Cops often set up speed traps.
Sometimes they get the rule books out and really go to town !
Aftermarket pipes, cut down rear guards, anything they can find that isn't perfect, I've seen cautions for undersize mirrors and the "wrong shape" tax disc holder!

Ride the same bike anywhere else and cops don't give it a second look.
Riders are a nuisance in that area and some cops and locals have had enough.
I leave them too it and ride elsewhere. I was told that means "They have won" but if I'm off somewhere else with my loud pipe and giving it some "YEE-HAAA!!" with no attention I'm quite happy.

With that many accidents they have no choice but to intervene. In my region they even close roads on the weekends for bikers. That only shifts the problem to other roads (plenty of curves everywhere) and punishes the riders (vast majority) who abide by the rules (within reason ). I prefer controls, citations are bargains in Germany compared to our neighbors. That's why many dutch bikers come here on the weekends to fill up their need for speed.
