GHowdy GSX owners, last Nov I purchased a 2008 SE GSX1400 with just 19700km for my 60 birthday. :hat: Below is a from my facebook post to all my friends to see if they could guess what bike I had purchased. My mate Mark guessed it once I posted a photo of the seat :clapping:

Added accessories by me are; R&G crash protectors, Tank lock ring for tankbag, RAM mounts for gps and phone, Motech rear carry rack, Wheel pinstriping, Oil cooler protector (from the UK), A Givi screen (not happy with that, doesn't suit me) and the tank porotector, forgot the front fender extender, now I think that's all.

****************************************************************
What does this old bloke do to celebrate his up-coming 60th? He acquires a very SPECIAL...motorcycle, that's what he does, and can hardly hold the excitement until the motorcycle is home.

*************************************

Hi FB gang, thought I would create an Album for this "SPECIAL ........" Motorcycle of mine.

Over the next few days I intend to post strategic photos from sections of the bike. So your mission FB Friends, (if you choose to accept of course) is to guess what make, model and year my motorcycle is.

I won't make it too easy, BUT if you have a sound knowledge of motorcycles and know me reasonable well, you will guess what it is, sooner than later.

I pick up the bike on Friday after my taxi shift, thus ending my 5 year and a 53,000km association with a maxi scooter. - ( the Suzuki Burgman 650)

I will start this album from the ground up so-to-speak.
Every SPECIAL........motorcycle deserves the best tyres, true? - introducing the Metzeler Z8 tyres.
Every SPECIAL....... motorcycle deserves a performance pipe, right? - introducing the Yoshi pipe.

The winner of this guessing competition will get to share a nice bottle of red (or three☆☆☆) with GMH, possibly at Lake Pedder on my 60th birthday, which is coming up soon!

Good luck with this guessing game...GH

I forgot about that mate, and slammed me nuts on the tank when came back on the ground, been ovewr 40 years since I done that and forgot how much it hurts :rofl2:

ARH

They do say that things toughen up with age.... for sure your nuts are not one of them  :rofl2:

Noddy

Hi Mate.
Great looker and a great choice but be respectful of the throttle as it will pull all the way until your face peels off. Don't mess with the suspension settings until you have done a few rides and then always keep notes of what was and what is.

By the way I see that you have a GIVI tanklock ring, what bike was it made for as GIVI don't make one specifically for the 1400. Do you have a part number?

Happy riding
Noddy
Remember puddles are always flat on the top!

Noddy - call Givi to see if the Givi BF01 Tank lock ring will fit - this (according to Givi) fits the following machines:
GSR 600 (06 - 11)
GSX-R 600/750 (06 - 10)
GSX 650 F (08 - 13)
Gladius 650 (09 - 14)
DL 650 V-Strom L2 / L3 / L4 (11 - 14)
GSF 650 Bandit / GSF 650 Bandit S K9 / L0 / L1 / L2 / L3 (09 - 14)
GSR 750 (11 - 14)
GSX-R 1000 (09 - 12)
GSX 1250 F (10 - 14)
GSX 1300 R Hayabusa (08 - 14)

If the above have the same Fuel cap fitment as a 14, then that's the one.

If not then it may be the BF02 which is for 6 hole filler caps. But you need to ask Givi
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Happy 60th, a fine choice for a birthday present.

Gday Noddy, it's a BF10  fits the Vstroms DL650 years 04-11 and the DL1000 years 01-11
I had one on DL1000 and left it on when I sold it, so the dealer took a chance and reckoned this one would fit and it did. However, I had to order the plastic surround separately, as that comes with the tank bag. and that is a standard fit for all I believe.

I purchased some Barkbusters today, haven't fully fitted them yet, just on loose to see if they were going to fit and look ok, and they do. After a ride at the weekend I had to do something about my cold hands and as I gave up on the electric grips idea, this was the next best thing. Very easy to fit and will come off during the summer I guess. Will get a mean looking front photo soon. A bit busy in taxi atm....Cheers
