Post by: camperman69uk on Thursday, 30 March 2017, 04:44 PM
I am now a proud owner of my first GSX 1400 :clapping: but she dosn't have a center stand and I can see that i will have to get some new rubber at some point. So as above, suggestions for a stand please guy's and girls. (in a non pervie manor, are there any girl owners on here?)

I use one of these, but you will need a rear axle stand as well.

They sell other types here as well.

Yep the Bike-Tek one is very good, had one myself, highly recommended - you'll will need to purchase a 23mm pin from them as well though for it to fit the headstock snugly (once you have removed the rubber bung) as you don't get that size with it - about £6 additional.

As mjgy says you will need a paddock stand as well - BikeTek often do both as a combined deal, may be worth asking about that if you don't have a Paddock Stand and get a better overall price

I built this one with Vici's help, if I lived closer to Czechoslovakia I'd consider getting Vici to make me one.

Lift under the forks with a stand that's normally
under the rear of one of my other bikes...

Old pic (old shed!) but I redrilled one of my bike lifts tables so the jaws open wide
enough to take up to 200 rear wheels so I can put bikes on backwards when I want to work on front ends / pull front wheels out....

Sorry Mr "gsxbarmy" I am going to pull you up that ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it's 21mm not as you said 23mm. I now it's been some time since my last post but I did end up using the axle stand under the frame method to replace my front tyre,,,,, and I didn't like it! She's a big lump and it proper freaked me out  for some reason I thought it would be a good thing to start polishing things so i wanted to take the wheel out again. My better half got me a front stand (I got the extra pin) and it don't fit  :furious: at least it wasn't an emergency
