Title: Homemade hugger
Post by: lawrie on Monday, 27 March 2017, 11:11 PM
As with the front guard, I made these last year but only just got round to paining, turned out reasonable, AND it fitted somehow!

Hi I was wondering if you have any info on how you made your hugger.

I'd say with a great deal of care, precision & detail. Lawrie is well known for that.

If this link works, ()fingers crossed ) https://www.dropbox.com/home/CB77 from pic 94 shows how I made a front guard for the little Honda, for some reason I never took any pics of the hugger, but the process was the same.

The front fender was much easier as I  used my original unit with the extension already fitted, then I simply took a mold from that, the good thing being that I can now pull out as many as I want!!

Realistically, its a stupid exercise to make one-offs,  expensive & time-consuming but I'm a bit of an anorak & love doing 'stuff'.
