Title: PC3 USB - cables etc?
Post by: VladTepes on Monday, 27 March 2017, 10:12 AM
When I bought my bike from Bov it had a PC3 fitted and already mapped for the Akro system etc.

As far as I can recall I don't have any USB cables or anything like that for it.  I assume / gather I can download the software from the Power Commander website- but is there a specific USB cable required or is it more of a generic one?

Anything else required aside from the USB cable?

I want to download the map (sensible precaution to back it up)

Nope normal USB lead like you get with modern cameras etc works just fine. No other leads required Mike. Plug USB lead into laptop and PCIII and off you go (you might need the bike ignition on can't remember).

Once you have downloaded your map and got it stored, often it's worth checking the firmware version on the PCIII and consider updating if needs be, you shouldn't lose your map, but if you have it stored, you can always restore it.

It's a USB to Mini USB connector you need. Not a USB to Micro USB connector which is what most smartphones use.

Like this.
