Hello Guys
Still looking for the bike itself , but that hasn't stopped me from hoarding some trick parts allready..
I now have a real beefy WP KTM 1290 SUPERDUKE fork with both T's in the garage , that I want to build in the bike..
I''m sure that the superduke forks are a lot shorter than the oem forks , so I need to lathe some extension bushings , otherwise the bike will be to "on it's nose" giving stabilty issues at higher speeds ...
Ever been in a speed wobble at 200kph? I have , nothing I want to expierience again..(brown underpants for sure.. :embarrassed: ).
also I think the ground clearance on the downpipes would suffer , as there are more speed bumps over here then anything else..
so in the mean time of waiting to find a bike , I can make the fork adjustments
I would like to know the distance between the top off the fork to the centre of the axle ,
when the front wheel is lifted (off the fround) .
Also is there any differance between a pre 2005 model and a 2005 fork ?in lenght that is ?
Is this any help Peter https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=187.0
Regards length, I believe all GSX1400 forks lengths are the same, its the internals that changed with the K5 onwards.

I stand corrected , further down the topic it says 810 mm I think this is when not mounted (no weight on it) ?
That sounds about the standard seat height also. I have rear shock lifters to give more ride height and quick steering with heavier fork springs.
