Going up a very familiar hill just after Big Totara River, I come round a bend to a landslip that's just happened. Was travelling about 112-115k's going up, reckon I went through the rocks and clay about 85-90k's. I'll try and include a working link to the video. Nope, it's not having it. I'll grab a few stills off the video then.

Remember these utes and caravans were going at highway speed, they came round the corner and see the slip and a ute & bike on their side of the road.
Couple more when the caravans come round.
I'm gonna die this time . . .

You just never know when a hillside is going to collapse onto the road round here, worst one I've come across on this bit. I knew I wasn't going to be able to stop before intersecting with the slip, so I just concentrated keeping off the brakes and rolling through it (at about 90) and try to miss the bigger rocks, which happened, so that's a win. Shame we can't put a video up or a link to one.
Bloody Hell, that was close. Great work/ luck to get through unharmed.
Yeah, close one there Col! Don't see that here (landslips I mean).
Plenty of moron tin tops with monster caravans on the road cutting corners though.
Wow.
Brown pants...white knuckles moments for sure :embarassed:
Nice safe
Damn, that's not what you expect to see is it. No doubt not what they expected either.
Nice one for not panicking and doing anything stupid.
Btw the only way I know to put a video up is to host it elsewhere such as YouTube or google photos etc, then add a hyperlink to it here.
I'm not aware we can embed them, but then I've never tried.
Yeah, I don't have anywhere to host it / them though, no biggie.
