Title: Super stoked - new camera purchase!
Post by: VladTepes on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, 06:28 PM
I am joining the Nikon club!

I am super excited  :boogie:  to be upgrading from my old FZ-200 to a new Nikon. I have now purchased the following (and waiting patiently to arrive from various vendors)

Nikon Z5II body (new) details (https://www.nikon.com.au/mirrorless-z5ii)
Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 Di III VXD G2 (2nd hand still under warranty $830 vs $1,500 RRP) details (https://tamron.com.au/our-products/28-75mm-f-2-8-di-iii-vxd-g2-model-a063/)

and accessories:
Haida 67mm NanoPro ND Filter Kit - 3,6 and 10 stop stackable screw-on filters. (new) details (https://www.maxxum.com.au/haida-nanopro-nd-filter-kits-nd0.9-1.8-3.0-3-6-10)
Lexar Professional SILVER PRO SDXC UHS-II Card (new) details (https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/mata-mata-lexar-professional-silver-pro-sdxc-uhs-ii-card-10187576344872/)
Lowepro Tahoe BP 150 camera bag (2nd hand but close to new condition. $50 vs RRP $150) details (https://www.lowepro.com/global/tahoe-bp-150-lp36892-config/)

and I recently purchased a Manfrotto BeFree Advanced twist carbon tripod (new) details (https://www.manfrotto.com/global-en/befree-advanced-carbon-fibre-travel-tripod-twist-ball-head-mkbfrtc4-bh/)

Bonus: Nikon currently has a promotion so I'll get a redeemable $200 voucher which will allow me to purchase two additional batteries for $18, the other $200 being covered.

I am pickling up the body tomorrow, the bag next Monday and the rest will arrive by mail hopefully all before next Wednesday (which happens to be my birthday)

I am sure that having the body but no lens will be mildly infuriating for those few days so meanwhile I'll have to brush up on the instructions. Z5II Reference Guide (https://onlinemanual.nikonimglib.com/z5II/en/index.html)

For shits and giggles, here's a comparison of my old and new camera sensors. It is, shall we say, an improvement.  :rofl3:
