Title: Aftermarket Oil Cooler
Post by: kja on Sunday, 26 March 2017, 08:46 PM

Does anyone run one of these? If so, any issues?

I had one of those Kev - nice strong cooler, the only issue I had with it is that with the flange on top - whilst strong - also takes away the area where the fan (if it cuts in) takes air from (the standard cooler has two pop up flanges rather than one wide one). I sent mine back as they wouldn't modify it and I was concerned that on a hot day, if the fan cut in (and mine used to from time to time) it wouldn't be able to draw air.

I did ask them about making 2 smaller flanges, cutting the centre out, drilling circles across - none of which they would do - well they would but at a price - so I sent mine back as inappropriate and got one from Aaron Radiators in East London instead https://www.aaronradiator.co.uk/motorcycle/motorcycle-oil-coolers/suzuki-oil-cooler/suzuki-gsx-oil-cooler/ just as strong and followed the OEM design (and cheaper).

You could always contact Coolex (who make the cooler you are looking at on eBay) , as I think afterwards they did modify one for another orgster who had the same concerns.

Assuming you want this for your 1700 build, I guess having a cooling option is paramount.

I'll be running a bigger cooler for that, possibly even a separate head cooler, this is for my 1400, the oem cooler is looking a bit tired as are the oem oil pipes, probably best to replace the lot

Thanks Blubber, I found the Torques web shop on EBay and they have a "Suzuki GSXR Standard 90 Degree Oil Cooler Take Off Adapter" and other GSXR fittings.
I guess they are the same, the centre measurements are listed so easy to check.

I messaged Torques a couple of weeks ago asking if they did oil line kits, they only supply the individual components though.

I thought that that was Kanerdog did, bought the parts and assembled the lines himself?

Could HEL not make you up a set to your spec?
