Title: Greetings from Suffolk
Post by: Brewerydave on Thursday, 25 June 2026, 07:12 PM
Hi all, pleased to find this resource :boogie2:

I'm a mere 60, and held a bike licence over 40 years.
Always been a sports bike fan, and had 7 GSXR750's in a row, a blade, a blackbird, and lastly a V-Strom when I was living abroad.

I used to be a surveillance rider in a past life, and managed not to kill myself

I've been without for a few years now, but hankering to get back to it, but knee down risky riding is well behind me, I know my limits! Mentally the skill is there, but the body says no to sports bikes now......so does the missus

A big 14 is 100% the way to go for me now, must be twin pipes, blue/white, and one that's spent as much time being loved and polished as much as ridden :8:

Moving house sometime this summer, and the new place has a garage......
So guess what will be going in it!

Am looking every day, keeping an open eye on the market, and will pounce once I've moved :onya:

Maybe see you on the road soon.........do try to keep up

Dave.

Welcome Dave. All the best with your hunt for your 14. Your bike history and age are similar to mine...I bought a 14 about 18 months ago and love it. A different riding experience to the sports bikes, but it suits what I want biking to be nowadays.

Welcome mate.

I reckon Notty has enough spare parts to make 2 mint 1402's

I've got a mint set of a complete system with twin mufflers. My bike was never started with them on from new. 🙄

Allo Dave. Don't forget the twin pipe setup is a simple collector box and cans swap, you just need to lose the centre stand on later (K5,onwards) bikes.

Glad to hear you're after the faster colours too.

Gidday Dave, welcome to the forum. I agree with the above posts, Nottys bike will be magic, bung some dual pipes on if you want that, it's all do-able.  Just getting the left hanger / foot peg bracket will be the hard part. I know Seth and a mate of his used to make them.

You can make a bracket similar to used on the later Givi pannier frames, which hangs off the pillion peg pivot pin too. Doesn't look exactly right but solves the issue while you look for an early hanger.
