You've put a lot into that bike Notty, it's such a shame you have to sell it. I've no idea on prices over there, but, you're right, the forks & engine covers need sorting. My advice would be to get those done then put her up. An immaculate looking bike is always going to get a better price. Guess it depends on how much the fix costs vs the increase in sale price.
Best of luck with it whichever way you go with it. Def need pics of proposed new bike too.
Been thinkin the same but even wife said you're not selling ,stick it in the garage till next Summer and then see ?
@Notty that 4-5k pricing would definitely be closer to the 5 in my opinion. The bike is immaculate from the pics I'd not bother doing anything more to it. Anyone who questions this bike in its current condition doesn't deserve to own one.
Good luck with the sale.
Have you given all the hidden and stowed away parts back to your partner in crime @Froudy ?
🤡🤡🤡
Notty, nice pic of you in the left hand mirror 🙂
It's a nice example of the 1400, some of the add ons may not be to everyone's taste, but they're always subjective. Some minor cosmetic issues, but nothing to worry about. Agree with Chris, anyone that questions those minor issues doesn't deserve one.
I don't know what the current market pricing for these in the UK are, but around the £5k seems ok ($9400 AUD), especially if you're including all the spare bits and pieces.
At that pricing, its at or near the price range here in Oz,based on listed (not sold) values.
It's an interesting one Geoff, I'd maybe invest in sorting the casings and sliders, as that could put others off / give them negotiation points. Maybe take off both the clutch and timing casings and get them re-powder coated (Seth may have some you can swap with) and perhaps sand down and lightly polish or spray the sliders. After that I'd put up at about £5,250 Ono and see how it goes (and don't forget in your list the Pazzo levers..........)

And he looks nothing like Keanu either :rofl2: :stir:
Remember Spizzoil? He's over there somewhere, Lincoln I think it were, haven't seen him on here for ages, but he polished stuff, like everything and made an excellent job of it. Maybe you could see if he's interested in doing your forks & cases Notty?
not going too well selling the 14 - guess my tastes on mods not very popular ! 540 views and no bids - reduced to trade price = £3800 so going to webuyanyshite.com
That's so sad mate. :confused1:
I know, you can send her up norf to Hooli, he can get it knicked & you claim insurance! Or just hang onto it for a while, park her up at Froudys & go visit with a polishing rag now & again till she gets a decent price. I wouldn't give it away for 3800
Obviously you just want it gone Notty. Maybe a 14 owner nearby wants some upgrades, Brembos, levers, shocks, campbells, tyres, he comes and swaps over bits, pays you cash, you still get the low offer for bike.If I lived close I'd be at your heels for the Brembos😎

Mods are always a personal thing IMO.
Any chance you still have the necessary parts to put her back to pretty much standard Geoff? She might sell easier then and you can then sell on the extras you have removed
As previously said, if a potential owner can't see that's a solid well looked after bike then they are just tyre kickers or dreamers, it's worth every penny of £5000.
well, now 700 views !!! omg must be so bad, I have cherished and loved the bike for 10 years, and you guys have always been there. yes, my upgrades are my choice as Barmy says but at £3800 a bargain FFS ...
I think prospective buyers may be a bit dubious because of the price, it's too low for a bike that's as good as yours is, so there must be something wrong with it if he's selling it that cheap. If it were me, I'd either raise the price to 5k (or more) or close that ad and make a new one with a higher starting price, with 'reasonable offers also considered' in it. Sure wouldn't put that in the ad that has 3800 on it.

Started price at £5k but after 10 days and 300 views with no calls dropped it - still no calls so trade price
My M8 has 4 bikes for sale , his Honda Sp1 has had 2500 views and although its priced at £2.5k below dealers price no callers., his MT01 1800 views and same.
I'd pause the ad and repost later.
Another tip would be to use Chat gpt or an AI to rewrite the ad
@Notty if I purchase it can I leave it in your garage ? 🙏
It's gone.980 views on auto trader and just one call - my mods weren't to anyone else's taste I reckon.
£3800 a steal
Sad day :bugga:

Sad day Mate. Turn the page, never look back. That Ducati I sold 15 yrs ago for $8g, today maybe $35g.Just how it is.
Sad times nitty,,we've all sold bikes in the past and regretted it but me selling mine was the most regrettable..I've consoled myself by accepting I'm not getting any younger (67 and rheumatoid arthritis) plus not got a corner of the garage to shove it in..but believe me,if I still had my very large garage it would definitely still be here...
😪😪😪 sad day indeed @ Notty.
Those pictures show just how beautifully you'd cared for her. ❤️❤️❤️
You'll be right mate your new ride will give you even more pleasure 🙏🙏🙏👍👍
£3,800 is £1,050 more than I paid for the Bloo Thing. It's nice to see them at more sensible prices tbh. They're only old Jap stuff and as great as they are they'll never be classic, nothing Jap ever is.

hmm, wish that logic applied. Would love to have an original Nissan Skyline R32 or R34 GT-R. They were 150k new, now worth well north of 350k....
It works for me, I'll never pay over the odds for old Jap stuff.
My bike is a dungger by comparison to yours
@Notty.
I wash it once a year even if it doesn't need it.
Has never let me down ever.
At some stage I will deregister it and park it at the back of the garage with a shrine around it. I've never owned anything this long.
Shame Notty, but hey, onwards and upwards, looking forward to hearing about your new bike mate.
