Finding the 14 getting too heavy so decided to try this - 3 years old with 1200 miles - heated grips and a quick shifter - and its already been lower for my short legs -being delivered this week, so 14 will be going
G'day Notty, that should keep the smile on your face. Been wondering where you were ?
Good looking bike
Interested in how it compares to the 14 as I'm likely to head down the adventure bike path in time. Enjoy
Nice.
Sounds like a smart move :boogie:
I know a auld git (70s) with the 900 & thinks it's great.
You do realise you now can only ride to Costa & tell everyone you didn't want a GS like you see outside Starbucks?
Gidday Notty, you're absence had been noted. Admin expect a formal letter of explanation for the absence. :stir: :whistling:
Great looking bike mate, and brand! :onya:
So the 14 will go up for sale, geez n you with a shed full of lifetime spares as well. Someone will get a deal alright. Hooli might take some of your spares off your hands to help rebuild his.
Those Tiger Sports are cracking bikes
@Notty think you are onto a winner there :onya: :onya:

just looking through the parts stored - polished clutch cover and gen case, rear light, headlamp , new crash bars , polished torque arm and a top selllier seat - new EBC discs and 2 red shocks !!
Bet
@Hooli wants dibs on the headlight, he may want the discs and shocks as well.
Oooh, seat, polished covers sound nice...
We're emptying Nottys cave faster than he filled it. :happy1:
Seems the natural progression for GSX1400 riders, when they get too soft/old, is to a Trumpy.
That's nice !
Much as I love my DRZ and what it does well, I have been looking at "Adventure Bikes" that eat up the road better than a dual sport, but still do milder dirt roads.
I'm envious !

Torque arm, engine covers and rear light too.
What's the seat and crash bars look like?
I might have a job lot off you Notty.

Good luck with your new steed, I can only imagine that it will be a very different ride from the GSX.
I've known your name on this forum and its predecessor for many years, how long have you had the GSX? I bet it will be a wrench to let it go.
Pete.

I've actually just taken the opposite route: I'm turning 61, and here is the new garage mate of my beloved Suzi. No wonder as why I've insisted on installing clip-ons on the the good ol' lady. :imrgreen:

At sixty-one, you are a spring chicken, compared to some of the guys on here. :happy1: :rofl2:
That's a proper bike that is. Have fun.
Not much of a Beemer fan but those things are awesome.I even barrack for them in WSBK😎Little story, watched a middle aged bloke start out on learning on 300cc BMW, he rode same track to work as me. He went thru process, got his full licence. Next thing he's on a S1000RR WTF i thought.A decade later he still does the work run on it, rain or hail. I doubt it's been over 80 kph, such a slow rider on such a fast bike. I always found it funny, everything passed him, he just waved and plodded on. 🤷🏼
Great story Grog, feel sorry for the bike, those things go like stink and need to be ridden to within 1/2" of their lives to work properly. So many issues on the BMW forum about poor running, rough idle and so on, these K series slant 4 engines need an Italian tune-up onc3 in a while. They run high compression ratios, hard rings and valves, so need to get to their design operating temps to bed in and de-carbonise the bores.
My 2009 K1300GT now has 110000km on it, and usually sees the high end of the rev scale at least once a ride, they're great mile munchers.
