Trouble is they will still just cut the discs to get it off, even though it may be wailing like a banshee.
Personally I prefer a U lock through the wheel, best you can get is either the Litelok X3 or the Hiplock D1000, both take at least 4 cutting discs to for mobile cutters to get through, which is way too long for thieves.

This... ^
I don't see the point of alarmed locks out and about when thieves are using angle grinders and cutting discs in public.
Maybe in your garage at 4am to alert you but not out and about.
There's a vid of guys in Dudley picking big bikes up (4 guys / two short steel poles) and throwing them in the back of a refrigerated truck. Couldn't hear the alarms where the doors were closed up.
The worst sort of security is one that you have confidence in thinking it'll make a big difference.
Probably best is just pay your insurance, if they want it, theyll get it.
Of course, it"s just a matter of deterring second-rate thieves

Spot on :onya:
Birmingham UK, outside New Street Train station, the scumbags, cut down a telegraph pole, in the middle of the day, to take the bike, chained to it.

OMG!! That really shows how apathetic the British public have become. Your pendulum has swung too far left! Fix it, get it more centred.

Not suprised. The one I knew to was outside the cinema in Dudley / Merry Hill. I'm told the sound proof refrigerated truck had a few, it was a local joke " The Fridgy van gonna get ya!"
I know one in Worcester where they moved a locked car to get into a locked garage to move a locked bike to get to the locked bike they wanted.
One local bike wreckers never had anything in the yard you wanted, but they could always get it in... :whistling:
My old boss had a power boat worth a fortune, it had won some famous race. He lived in Sydney. Went away for xmas. They took off roof sheets, hired a huge crane to lift it out over several cars parked in driveway, put in a truck and gone.A few neighbours had a recollection but none really took much notice.
I don't really park on the street, mainly in the garage, I have disc locks, good chain and ground anchor plus tracker, I prefer to spend a few quid now which can be used years in the future on other bikes. I have done everything I can to stop it being nicked, I refuse to accept "well if they want it they will take it", it's my fecking bike and it stays with me

That one in Worcester, sounds very much, like my cousins best friends bike.
His brothers GS550 parked outside, under front window not, touched
Works van parked in front of and right up, against garage doors.
Dads car in garage, in front of his and as close, as possible (so they both, fitted in) GS750.
Doors removed, 750 carried out, doors put back on
installed on stand that also markets the anti-theft brand
