Not even Summer and were getting battered. Darwin/NthWest Oz hammered by cyclone. Out west here think was a 50c degrees yesterday. Around here, high temps, around 36-37, huge storms over enormous areas.Roofs ripped off, trees down everywhere, power lost for 24 hrs some areas. Huge hail, huge winds, i hate the shit, scares me. Nothing you can do about it. Another 3 or 4 days of it they say.I really do like where i live, just not storm season😎

My brother lives in Darwin, said they were without power from 6pm Saturday till 11am Monday. He's lucky, he has a generator so could still make ice for the G&T's . . .

I've worked in the power industry in numerous roles for going on 27 years now. This is one of the most lively starts to the warmer months I can recall.

I work in testing and commissioning of substation high voltage plant and control/protection systems so wild weather like this doesn't generate a huge amount of work for us luckily. My crew's been very busy as a result of it already this year though. I'm currently working out west copping back to back days of 40+ and heading home Friday to start a week of being on call 24/7. My wife works in a more poles and wires related world and will be on call at the same time. We love what we do but wish us luck  :grin:

The media have blown it all out of proportion as usual.
This is normal weather for this region around this time.
Bigger population with higher densities is being more affected is the news.

Strange end of the year up here in Scotland
Late warm autumn and now a colder autumn so it seems winter has come quickly
