Title: On the Pantech
Post by: Uncle-P on Saturday, 11 October 2025, 02:06 AM
Well, I got her home. Quick squirt before a brief maintenance park up. Goddamit, what a machine.. been staring at it for a little bit admiring the lines. Feels excellent and much more at home and comfortable than my SV which I was finding a little cramped up.

It was late, the missus was asleep, you can't blame a man!
Seriously though, completely different animal.. in a really good "hold on to your hat" way. Very pleased.

If you enjoy riding with the missus she'll enjoy the room and comfort on the back. Just don't tell her there's a glovebox under the seat

Whilst I semi have your attention.. bump stops on the rear showa's with the red springs.. replaceable? One has turned to dust.. so I'm just contemplating forking out for a new set as money allows or just put some new bump stops in as the shocks seem serviceable and the dials move etc and seem to function. Was a country bike so didn't really get too much salt air aluminium corrosion.

P, just had a look at mine, no bump stops. Not sure when they disappeared but not a problem. Set on 3 rings and polish mark on rod says nowhere near bottoming out, so nothing to worry about. Thats a grand to spend on something else😎

Removed the bump stops on mine a long while ago, they had cracked and faded. There's is no real need for them, the shocks never bottom out.  Plus they are rebuildable.

Excellent news, I may just end up doing the same then.. I'm glad it's as easy as "she'll be right!" and nothing to really think about.

+1 for Rodney at RAD. He did the WP shocks on my BMW K1300GT. Very knowledgeable bloke.
