Due to a combination of work, weather (if it's not been frosty mornings, it has been days and days of rain) and resurfacing work on our yard being halted by that weather (so I can't easily get bike across the uneven surface), I haven't been out on the bike for about a month. It's driving me slowly mad.
This morning it again looked like it may rain. I asked Siri, "Surely it's not going to rain again today." She replied "Yes, it's going to piss it down all day. And don't call me Shirley!". That was when I realised I'd left my phone on Airplane mode.
Yeah, rain. This year, last year pretty similar. Our annual is 1600mm, over 1200 already. No good for bike or golf😡😡
Up until May we'd only had 5 fine weekends since January. So not a lot of riding unless I was committed to using wet weather gear which I did do on a few occasions. I bought Nelson Rigg gear for last Novembers NZ South Island loop.
Now we're in single figures in mornings and mid 20's during the day. With westerly winds this week up to 30-40kms. Towing a 40' container acting like a sail had me weaving 50 tonnes along the motorways of Brisbane 🫣🫣
I have been practicing because we're doing Christmas in July in Armidale (Friday) and Tenterfield (Saturday) 25th and 26th. Anyone is welcome just PM if you want the details.
We had a pretty much dry year so far in the northeast of scotland only had a couple of weeks of rain and that's recently.
It's been damn wet over here, just seems to be always rain, it is winter though, so ya gotta expect that I guess. Roll on warmer weather so I can get the bike out again.
Tanks are full, currently holding 141,000 ltrs.
Garden doesn't need watering.
Paddocks have died back a bit but no bushfire danger.
Dry here today. Might take a bike out to get breakfast if it warms up a bit later.
