Title: GS500 loaner
Post by: GSXKING on Monday, 19 May 2025, 05:28 PM
Dropped my BMW to Rising Sun in Capalaba for new tyres this afternoon. Stu says "you're a longtime Suzuki man" so your loan bike today is "THIS" 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 faaarrrkkk it felt like a suppository. Absolutely no torque and with me onboard about 25 HP.

Notice how massive the GSX1400 look's looming behind it 🙀

I'm not riding it to work, just back to the shop tomorrow afternoon to collect my BMW.

I don't think I could ever bend over far enough to ride a sportsbike again either lol 😆

I remember riding with a mate years ago who had one of those with 33bhp restrictors in, as was required by her licence at the time. It did about 92mph.

First and last time I went to the local (i.e. only) bmw dealer here in Perth I was promised a loaner when I booked the service. Eyeing off an R1250GS in the parking area, hopes of that were dashed as they pointed me to a rat rod looking F800 or whatsitcalled. Absolute POS to ride. Would rather gave taken the bus.

I rode one of those Rotax FS650GS things once. Slower than continental drift (87mph utterly flat out) but so easy to ride & chuckable.

Maybe there is a market for single-use bikes. :happy1:

To be honest as a smallish Dualsport thing for people who want to pretend to ride around the world it wasn't bad. I took it a up muddy track having never ridden off-road in my life & did ok even with the lass who owned it pillion (she hadn't got her licence at the time, dunno if she has yet).

Yeah I am really disappointed with Suzukis recent smaller offerings.

Best ever small bike I've ridden 'recently' was the Honda CB400 (aka Super 4)

Farkin' epic!

Was happy two-up, highways speeds etc.
