Title: Newcastle NSW
Post by: Mr Bones on Thursday, 08 May 2025, 11:04 PM
Mr Bones here.
G'day to you all.
Yesterday afternoon this found itself way into my shed

2001 with 27xxxkm on it. It's got a Givi top box and a Stainetune full system.  From what I can tell apart from that it's stock.
I'm 6'5 so we'll be sorting the seat and making it higher for me. Then I'll look into brake lines and what not.
Any way you'll see me around here from now on 👍

Looks nicely unmolested.

BTW when you do the seat, keep the original cover. They sell for £50-60 on their own here.

Gidday Mr Bones, welcome to the forum.  I'm 6'5" tall as well.  Got my seat resculptured with Gel Insert, put bar risers on & 50mm extra length SS brake & clutch lines.  That helped me a fair bit, however I still got hip cramps with my feet being tucked up like they are. I did a lot of miles on the GSX & had a great time with it, but I've moved on now, to a power cruiser with forward controls, (2023 Rocket 3 GT) suits / fits me much better.

I have had my seat ready shaped by David's Custom Motorcycle seats at Budgewoi. Dave did a great job. He was able to use my original cover. It's much better, firmer, flatter with a soft layer on top.

Mine is a 2001. Only just clicked over 34,000km. Brought it 12 months ago with 27,000km on it.
Got my knew YSS on last night.
Now to sort the front end out

They look really good I especially like the piggy back.
Is there a specific part number for ordering those.
My front is well sorted. However I've been refer-bushing the factory shocks for ever because of the look. Now you've shown me yours I'll be cracking open the piggy bank. 💰💰💰

David lives close to me, I see him often as he is a VJMC member.
I was in Cessnock couple of weeks back as my daughter moved to there not far from Maccas.

Just jump on the YSS Australia webpage and punch in your bike details. There should be 8 options to choose from.

I personally have RG362's in the +25mm version. Mr Bones are the same model in the "black edition", not sure which length though.

Thanks @Lurch it's a lot more money than Rads charge for a refurb. I'll definitely consider it if it can make a big difference.
