Title: Modified Centre Stand
Post by: FlyWheel on Friday, 25 April 2025, 03:56 AM
Hi all,

Has anyone on here ever modified their centre stand in order to make a Akrapovic system fit?

Yup, I'm sure they have. Anything is possible if ya chuck enough money at it. (just ask Elon)

Not that I know of, everyone just takes the centre stand off.

You can refit it without the springs to use to work on the bike though.

Reason I mention it is, my 1400 centre stand has been modified to fit an akrapovic full system.
I'd read on here that those with akra full system had to remove centre stand, but someone who previously owned my bike has cut a portion out of the centre stand to allow the akra to fit.
I suppose my only concern would be, is it likely that that has compromised the integrity of the stand.
It was repainted or powdercoated after mod ( previous owner ) so looks a clean job.
It's looks ok visually, no cracking of coating/paint in area.

Akrapovic on my K3, I use a rear swingarm pick up and scissor lift under the frame to lift the bike up if i need to get both wheels off the ground.  I still have the centre stand hanging in the shed, never used or needed it.
