I have been a Dragbike racer for 50 years. I plan to use the GSX platform in a new build. Thank you for letting me join
Welcome mate, would be great to follow your progress in that build
Hey dude, nice to see ya, welcome to the forum. USA ya say, where did you get a GSX1400 from over there?
@Tony Nitrous might be interested in this thread as I know he's dabbled in drag racing.
I had to put 'racing' at the end else some would take it another way than it's intended . . . not mentioning names Notty & Chris . . . :rofl2: :onya:
Thanks for the welcome. I found a complete engine that was advertised by a dismantler on YouTube, yes YouTube, I followed the link in the video. They are called Baboon in the Netherlands. It's on its way to me now. I called breakers all over the UK but nobody would ship one to me. We do not have these bikes here at all. I never heard of one until a few months ago. We have been using, and still do, the GS 1100 platform. Parts are getting more difficult to find. I wanted as with some others, to get away from the roller bearing crankshafts. For instance, a 'new' crankshaft for higher horsepower applications can cost between 5000 and 6000 US dollars. I like a challenge so that is what I am doing
Welcome to the forum Blmac. :onya: The 1400 was only sold on Europe, Japan, New Zealand and Australia as far as I know although there is one in Canada.
And the Canadian one is a full import, I believe...
Welcome :)
Yes that will be my '03 :hat:
