Hey all, picked up a mint 08 last weekend. Looking forward to getting more seat time and tidying up a few bits along the way

Welcome. I hope you're better at knowing where to stop whilst "tidying up a few bits" than I am.

Thanks all. Started with some different bars, mirrors and indicators. Exhaust hanger on order and will be looking into power commander options to make the most of the full system. Oh and the 12 year old tyres probably need replacing :)

What did you find for an exhaust hanger? I'm on the lookout for something that looks decent and allows me to remove the pillion pegs but haven't found anything yet.

Mine has a PC3 fitted but I'll likely remove it in the first half of next year when I change the exhaust system. I'm fortunate to have an excellent dyno tuner local to me who can reflash the ECU, he worked wonders getting rid of the Euro 5 strangulation of my Husky 701.

I ordered one from Web!ke and will likely paint it:
Superbike exhaust hanger # W-1307-248 (https://japan.webike.net/products/9673521.html)

I prefer the JustBandits style hangers but their supplier no longer makes them and I hadn't come across any other options.

Is your tuner in Sydney by any chance? If you're ever planning to sell the PC3 let me know.

He's in Toowoomba (Yuri Mechanical). On bikes he's had plenty of dyno time with he does "mail-in" reflashes but I don't believe the 1400 is on that list unfortunately.

Re the PC3 - will do.

I drive past Yuri most weeks, will be up there as my bikes going into Elite on Fri and I have parts to collect.

I'm a huge fan of flashing ECU's as on many newer bikes they are far superior and offer so much more, but my 14 still runs a dyno mapped PC111 with no dramas.

The 14 has a quite basic ECU and I can't see any advantages for the time and expense of flashing it other than moving ignition timing and raising rev limiters.

Maybe if the bike was a blank canvas I'd consider it, but not having a PC that works fine.

Tony, my bike runs perfect in my eyes. Starts easily, no flat spots, revs out, good on fuel, plenty of power, smooth as in traffic. What gains from a reflash as im already happy.I dont mind trying whatever but just cant see the gain for me.

No gains from a flash over a PC111 etc.  Mine runs a Yoshi full system and a few other mods and is noticeably stronger with the dyno mapped PC111 than without it but that's just correcting the fuelling to be its best.

Modern bikes really benefit from a flash as they have so much that's set up to meet Euro-5 etc and are often factory set to rein in high horsepower. Being able to unlock a genuine 40+hp on a keyboard is not rare and is very noticeable.

I'd never fit a PC3 or 5 to a modern bike, they don't even start to touch the long list of potential locked up.  In the same way I've never bothered to get my 14 flashed, the ECU has very limited potential and the PC3 that came with it has got the fuelling spot on.

Bikes like my old Supercharged H2 shut down early at high revs, full throttle only gives something like 18% to limit the top end power. Raising the low limiter and remapping the throttle % and fuelling absolutely transforms the bike.  I'm a huge fan of flashing both static and dyno tunes, but I just don't see it being a huge benifit to the GSX1400 other than an alternative fuel map.
