Very quiet forum, something to fire us up hopefully. Your worst bike ever owned, two stand outs from my life.1974 Norton Commando 850, never ending problems, looked good. Sounds like that wife you didnt need.1974 CR250 Elsinore, so quick, did everything perfectly when running, that was its problem, getting it started, broke my my mates ankle. All your bad ones fellas.
I'd say my worst one was my first big bike a Suzuki RF600. I got it before my licence as it was cheap & I figured it'd be fine to get used to bigger bikes on the road before buying something I liked. Turned out to be a bad crash repair with a bent frame, half a ton of fibreglass holding the fairings together, carb issues & a loom that'd snap random wires occasionally. They are probably a nice enough bike in good nick, but that one wasn't.
Other than that, the worst was the Triumph Sprint 1050 GT. Nothing really bad about it, just cheap build quality & so utterly dull to ride. Too high, top heavy, sporty riding position but slow so just hard work. Even the huge panniers & topbox turned out to be small as the sides were over an inch thick for no sensible reason.
Yamaha XS250.
Honda CJ250.
Brand new H*rley Evo Sportster.
Wish I'd never set eyes on any of them. Junk.
Honda NVT650 bland and gutless
Kawasaki GT550 constant electrical issues, when it did run ,gutless
Cream of the crop- Honds CX500 AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL!.
Kawasaki A750 Turbo - no brakes, faded like heck! But boy did it go! Then I had an electrical problem whereby if you held the starter button it would start, then let it go, and the bike cut out. Dealer couldn't find the fault, took me 6 weeks by going through the whole wiring loom - dry joint going to the coils.
So sold that and bought a GS1000S - fab bike, but had to get a new alternator every 5-6k miles (common fault so I later found out). Still loved that bike though, and really was what made me buy my first GSX1400 some years later.

Yeah I ended up on the gsx1400 after owning an GSX ET 1100 Suzuki in 1981
This is bike number 56 since I was 15 yrs old ! Had all sorts of bikes from 80cc to 1400.All Japanese !
Now sitting here waiting for the knee replacement to mend.(just over a week ago!).
(already been on the rideon mower hahahahaha).
Best most exciting was probably the Kawa Mach4 in 1972.
Sorry to be a bore but have been lucky as I haven't really had a bad bike, they all did what I wanted at the time but if I was pushed I'd say which was worst it was my Ducati 860 GTS, very poor steering lock and when it rained I pushed. I wouldn't turn one down now though.
I've had a few bikes I didn't like after buying them though but they all served a purpose.
Charging mustve been old Suzuki problem. Had 4 GT750, new brushes around 6 th ks, carried in pocket.Italian electrics 860 Mick👎next Darmah with Bosch, amazing bike.

A very rare photo Roo, a Kwacka Triple with the front wheel on the ground.
Look at those chunky forks......
Mach 4.... scariest bike I've ever been on, muggins was the pillion.
Col, mach 3 i had, ports out lots, 550 suzuki pistons, expansion chambers. Mach 4 was a pussy compared. Just one of my stupid ideas.Just a hand grenade. You do what you do.

In my younger days stuff like the Z13, CBX, H2 triple, Z750 turbo etc were my poster bikes. 45 years on bikes I've ridden most of the stuff I drooled over.
The ones I actually put my cash on the table for were the. 1100 Kat, and the 1100ET and the early GSXR1100. Much as I real longed for a CBX or Z13 at the time they don't excite me now.
The GSX1400!! - Does my head in thinking about wanting to go for a ride all the time. Constantly anxious that someday I won't have it in my stable, there waiting for me. So much so I now have mental disorder. :8:

More whiskey will fix that Stan . . . :happy1:
Thought it might be the end of bikes when I had my knee done !
Wife said just leave it in the shed and wait !
I have no patience at all.
Yesterday,at 9wks after Op, I was back on the beast. Did my usual 160km loop and although a bit stiff, no probs !
It can only get better as I get more movement ?
Goodness be upon you, ya stubborn ole basket! :onya: :clapping:
:cruisin: Well done. Hard to keep you down for sure👏

Almost the same here. BUT no more "bad" weather riding. Temp minimum requirements have gone up steadily. 2008 was last extreme ride at minus 17°C. Now it has to be plus 17° and absolutely no rain in the forecast.
I've been trying to remember all the bikes I've owned and to this point I can honestly say I never bought a dud. I did however test ride a lot of bikes that I thought this is B.S. One in particular was the first iteration of Triumph's Rocket 3 I rode it on to Moss St. nearly fell off negotiating the kerb as I hadn't anticipated the bulk weight of the bike. Rode up the street and before Logan Road (approx 500 Metres) signalled to the salesman I'm going back. No words were required.
The other that springs to mind was Yamaha MT01 the massive motor under braking just pushed the front end way too hard in my opinion. There are plenty of others that I just can't recall, as I used to make a habit of riding most new models when I had plenty of spare time and a good connection with many bike shop owners before Team Moto conglomerate saturated the market. :hat:

Same. I do like physically big bikes and both these had I thought, some appeal. I found both disappointing.
The Rocket just wasn't going to sit with anything slightly useful on fun roads and the MT lacked an IL4's wide range of smooth grunt and ran out of top end.
Neither were going to go anywhere in a hurry.
Team Moto have always been keen to offer me test rides, when they were doing a "$50 test ride ( might have been $100)" on the H2 to discourage the dreamers and idiots I was told not to worry about it. They know I've had several new bikes from Springwood Suzuki and Team Moto so I guess they see me as a potential victim.
My last new bike came from Team Moto as the price was unbeatable... but they haven't seen it since I rode it out of the showroom.
Exactly correct on Rocket Chris, bloody heavy.First ride i had on one, Mates driveway 300 metres of grass/gravel driveway with steep grass slope up to driveway. Then feet in wrong place for forward controls. Arse clencher those first few ks😎
