An inspiration for a solution.

A posh version of how I put a trolley jack under one of the centre stand mounts.
Thats pretty clever Andre👍very impressed. Ill remember if i ever get that Cyclone exhaust.
Grog, that's a screenshot from YT. The guy just posted the episode 101 on this bike. Was the 1k inspection after complete re-design/rebuild incl. engine. The bike was a total desaster attempt to make a cafe racer. Many a bike he has brought back to a decent life.
If I were to leave the main stand off, then my solution would be more "posh" than his. That's why I wrote "An inspiration for a solution." Thought this might be helpful for some.
I'll take stand off at some point to deal with a design weakpoint. Then it comes right back on!
I've had Yoshimura headers fitted on my bike from day 1.
So never required centre stand removal. When I put lifter kit under shocks the centre stand only just touched the floor so I picked up a two by four long enough to fit just past the feet and it lifts the rear wheel up enough.
And if the problem occurs on the road?......let's put the hydraulics under the seat :notworthy:

I've used a gutter before for clearance 👍😎😎
Not having a proper functioning mainstand would be annoying for me even at the petrol station as I insist on filling the tank up to the max. However, filling on the side stand would save a couple € ???
Same here Andre, I always brim it & record the fuel usage for the distance covered.
I just fill up sat on the bike, then I can shake it too to get a bit more in as I've never bothered to drill or bash that vent hole in the side of the filler neck.

not allowed to do that here, they refuse to switch the pump on if they see you sat on your bike trying to fill it up.
Same in NZ, even some have signs.
Most are signposted here
Never seen a sign, didnt know you couldnt but why would you want to.
No signs here. Can't recall seeing someone do it. My guess is that they are afraid that you leave without paying. Why Hooli does it? Room for speculation. Superglued his pants to the seat so he doesn't fall off. Too stiff to get off. It's his sofa and he is watching a video on his big screen tablet. :stir: :whistling: :happy1:
Any other ideas?
We have the occasional petrol station saying you can't do it, or you must take your helmet off first. Never lasts long as everyone stops using the place & writes complaints in.
We've had the occasional moron set fire 🔥 to themselves whilst sitting astride their bike. Nanny state reaction is stop everyone.
Ride offs would be my guess most in these days of financial difficulties theft :jack:
Hooli - the Chuck Norris of GSX1400 ownership. Frankly,I'm surprised the bike doesn't fill itself at Hooli's command...

The outrage on FB groups telling each other about it would be how you I'm not the only one.
Mind you years ago the only petrol station on the way to work kept telling me to remove my helmet, they gave up the day I was wearing a balaclava under it. I'll never agree to being told to uncover my face until burka wears are also told to remove those.

Totally agree with that, if I get asked to remove my helmet I just go to a different garage and then I write to the owner complaining about discrimination against bikers.

I drop the hose on the floor too, just to give them something to do.
This was said to me at petrol station by the lady cashier when I walked in wearing full lid: "I never imagined to be glad seeing someone walk in with the helmet on." That was during covid when we couldn't even get enough masks and gloves for the clinics. Later, no one was allowed to enter without mask. Even entering a bank with the face recognizable was not allowed. Who would have ever imagined that. :happy1:
But I FULLY understand the petrol stations' people fear about being robbed. Had conversations with some who have experienced that. At the station were I buy my tobacco (no petrol as it does not meet my requirements), one of the ladies there always is in company with her husband due to the "crap potential" there. He isn't on the payroll but does everthing there; especially enhance her security. I love that couple. They are Dutch and we had a lot of fun conversations over the years.
So, instead of :hat: , I take my lid off to show all of them the RESPECT they deserve. They are just trying to make a living by doing their jobs. Just as most decent people do until we are retired!!!
Ridiculous post, fill your bike, abide their rules, helmets off is on posters. Not something that makes my life difficult.

I worked in petrol stations for a few years & never had any attempted drive offs by bikes. Several tried & some succeeded in cars, but never by bikes. Now days you do get more by bikes, but it's scummy kids riding obviously stolen bikes - no helmets, smashed up bikes & no number plates. However they don't look like regular riders when they pull in, so it's easy to just not authorise the pump when you see them.
There's dodgy looking youths, in hoodies pulled right forward & baseball caps filling cars where you can't see their face at all at night due to shadows from lights etc. They are much more likely to be criminal than a biker who's taken their gloves off, maybe undone their jacket etc & obviously isn't ready for a sudden get away.
So no, I don't and won't accept being discriminated against because I'm on a bike. Apart from anything else, the possible losses of a drive off by a bike is a lot less than a car because our tanks are much smaller.
There is a notable difference between

and

Like comparing apples to oranges. Very different in taste.
Theft vs. robbery. The later usually involves a weapon.

Ahh cross purposes. Here if they feeling difficult they won't turn the pump on until you take your helmet off, which was what I was referring too.
That's fair. But you shouldn't use a quote, especially not mine, that does not reflect the situation you are describing
Different countries, different behaviors.
Nobody here turns a pump on/off between customers. They probably could if needed. My take is that station employees here give a shite if someone steals gasoline. They are on camera anyhow. Police will have to sort it out.
The question still stands in the room. What came first, the hen or the egg? Are they feeling/being difficult first, or are you feeling/being difficult first?
Big problems usually start small. Make one person smile and it potentially makes many people smile. That domino effect goes also for frowns.
Over here the cashier always has to push a button to authorise the pump so it starts pumping for each customer. Turning it on, wasn't said clearly. Hence why when I used to work in a petrol station & a car pulled up with the plates taped over I'd just laugh & give them the finger rather than autorising the pump.
I get your point, but I view it as the cashier or station owner being difficult for the sake of it. So they started it.
I sit on my GS and fill up same as
@Hooli - did the same on my Triumph and my old 14, never had an issue, can't see the point in getting off, putting it on its main stand etc when you can just hold your bike up, and then just put the side stand down to get off and pay.
I can't see the point of getting off the couch and take out the trash. Just takes too much energy and I might slip a disk while carrying that heavy bag.
Someone to fill it for you, how about that. Mate who is boss of outlaw club, told me, they were on a run in W.A. Over 100 of them pulled into remote servo. Only way to get fuel was to let old lady fill each Harley, she then locked pump and took him inside to pay.Pulling teeth he said, took forever but only choice. Big bad bikies foiled by the old lady trick😂👏
