Wow, sweet looking 14. What headlight and fairing assembly is that? And was it effective? Also, how much elbow grease was requited to polos your fork lowers to that amazing level of finish? :)

LOL,  from memory, the shine came from stuff called Plexus, it's for cleaning / shining perspex, aircraft windows & incidentally, boat windscreens too.  But, it works excellent on painted surfaces as well, bike shops often shine up the bikes in the showroom using this stuff.  Quite expensive here, but if you don't have any of that, use Pledge spray furniture polish, works nearly as good and waaay cheaper.

Barmy will be horrified!!  :happy1:

The fork legs were just sanded down with various grades of wet & dry till they came up nice.  Haven't stayed like that though.

Think that pic was from 2016, so before I chucked in down the road & over the bank.

Oh if we're playing the retro pic game...

Box Hill, 14th Oct 2007. My first ORG meet, about a week after I'd got my 14. Remember saying something like 'A new member with a rather clean 14 joined us' Barmy?

That's cause us B/W owners are that much faster we got to ORG events years before the other colours.

Yeah Hooli, great pic. Retro, 2012, mine arrived, bought online, major Suzuki dealer, never before spent those bucks online. I threatened if not perfect, balls to be lost. Boss of the shop delivered to my garage door, i was amazed, so perfect. Now, nearly 13 yrs later, ive made it far better bike, this forum is part of my life, one of my best life moves.

Pretty much yeah. Two weeks later I got a new rear tyre & threw it down the road pulling out of a junction because BT-021.... I can still remember looking at it reversing away from me as I hit the floor before it did.

You lot have got me looking at old pics so I'm going to stick a few up here from time to time. This seems to have turned into the thread for it so...

MCR 8. This was the stop on the ride out at the Kyle of Tongue (approx top dead centre of the Scottish coast for those that don't know).

Anyone else remember the carnivorous midge around the place we all stayed just north of Ullapool?

There's a video on youtube somewhere of the rideout leaving, it takes about 3mins to get all the bikes out.

I don't think so.

But if you look at the one on the castle gateway. First B/W on the left with the little fairing, that's Barmy & I framed by the mirrors.

Yep - indeed that is me and hmm maybe there is a likeness to Alan Millyard - if so I'm honoured!
