Title: A few GoPro questions re Hero2 issues
Post by: VladTepes on Monday, 20 March 2017, 11:19 PM
I have a Hero2

1. Seems like videos run for 21m:11s and then a new video starts.  Not a major issue but is there a reason?

2. Sometimes video starts but then stops quickly, rather than continues recording like it should. Any ideas?

Hiya, as for point 1, all GoPro's do this but its not time related its file size related. cant speak for the Hero 2 but the 3+ has a max file size of 2.1gig. The time all relates to the quality settings that you have set up on your device. If your useing the GoPro Studio software everything should knit together seemlessly.

As for point 2, is this when you first hit the record button?? This has only ever happened to me when i have used a dodgy memory card or a card has become corrupt for some reason or just doesnt have fast enough write speeds.. I only use quality SD cards in my devices now.

Hope this is helpful.

Not sure about the GoPro, but on my SJ4000 you can set the time that it records for in blocks. I opted for 30 minute at a time.

Proteous the first point makes sense.
As to the other its a quality card with fast speeds  and i dont think any corruption issues.

Re point 2, you could have it set on motion detect which will stop recording if it doesn't detect movement.
Should start up again though, albeit as the next vid.
