Any of you chaps Drag racing fans ?
@Tony Nitrous knows a thing or 3 about drags, haven't seen him on here for a while now though. Must be busy looking after his farmlet.

Well that gives a whole new meaning to 'quarter mile strip'.
1974 i rode the fastest 1/4 mile street bike in Oz.My Mate in Bathurst set the record at Castleraigh dragstrip, 1974 750 Norton Commando with Tom Drouin supercharger. Im no Norton fan but it easily stood up in 2nd gear. His business /history is now legend, just search Paul Taverner

Yes top fuel dragsters are the best.

Started prepping my new (to me) Gen-2 for the drags, but the local strip had a heap of dramas with resurfacing, and I've had a few health issues. Slowly getting there. I was going to run the bike pure-street, but I've done that a few times in the past so it might be time to get a trailer and get more serious.

I never ran my 14 at the strip, but the previous owner did, and if I remember it was one of the quicker 14's there, it's always been a well set up and healthy bike and he was a pretty sharp rider. I'm a bit out of practice but I think I can remember which way to face and where to head through the lights.

Just doing my own thing, lots of lazy rides out on the bikes, growing some fruit and veggies, treated myself to a new car, just enjoying retirement.

I am, but apart from the Street Series here, as a Hayabusa fan I follow more of the overseas stuff.
The bikes from BigCCracing in the UK, HTP / Moore Mafia in the US, and the somewhat controversial Vance and Hinces Pro Stock bikes, plus some of the US Grudge Bike racing.

Nice to see you again Tony, I can see you've been busy at home. Any more pic's of how the 'yard' has progressed?

Thanks. I do look in occasionally but apart from an occasional run to get a pie I haven't had much to do with my 14.
"Yard" is very much a long term thing. I have 6 hens that give me way more eggs than I need so I trade with neighbours. Doing OK for stuff like Spring onions, Capsicums, Pumpkins, Chillies etc, heaps of herbs like Mint, Parsley, Thyme, Rosemary, Lemon Grass. Planted 300+ trees and shrubs, many as a windbreak, but also Avocado's, Lemons, Lines, Pecan Nuts etc. Now Spring is almost here we are putting in several more garden beds in the hope of being more productive.
I built two hen pens, one 15m x 15m, the other 7.5m x 15m.

The first years veggies was a bit random and a test. This year we have a better idea.

The little Fergie is going well, I'm still undecided about getting some cattle, or if to just plant a bigger orchard and a lot more fruit trees.

I did have a visit from another 1400 owner from this group (who rarely post now) a few weeks back. I hadn't seen him for a few years so it was nice to catch up again.
Hows it goin Tony. Youve done some nice work since last seen👏
