Firstly wanted to apologise for skipping the intro. Dumbed out a bit. I think my excuse was that I'd been pulling my hair out trying to fix my bike. My name is Matt and I live in Hervey Bay and work in the operating theatres in the local hospital. I ride my bike to work because I park it literally just outside the back door as opposed to jumping in the Amarok and and trying to find a park for 45 minutes. I've owned my bike since 2008 and absolutely love it. It's getting to the point now that I'd like to fix it and do some long overdue maintenance. Problem is I have to buy another bike to replace it whilst it's off the road. I won't say what I'm buying as it may offend some here. I've always been into retro naked bikes but early on in my 20's I had a 84 Katana 750. I like the sports touring feel as it suits my back. I hate the numb fingers with ironing board style bikes.
I want to forwardly thank anyone who offers me help here. I have followed the site for years unintentionally as Everytime something happened to my bike the site would come up as the top pick. It's helped me out heaps over the years
Cheers 👍👍
Welcome Mate. Just a few hundred ks north of me. No one takes offence on here about bike choice, its your choice.
Welcome to the forum Matt. :onya: Of course we need to see a picture, anyone can say they have a 14. :whistling:
Welcome from the cold Netherlands Matt :hat:
Gidday Matt welcome aboard, yep, we let all sorts of bikes (and owners) frequent these parts. Obviously we're going to be more knowledgeable about GSX1400's, but there's plenty of owners that have more than 1 bike & 1 brand on here, eh Mick J . . .
Welcome Matt, they do tolerate other makes on here, even bmw's and hd's too...
:welcome1:
To all things 1402

G'day Matt and welcome to the nuthouse.
I can't imagine there are many GSXs in Hervey Bay?
Glad you took the time for an introduction
Pics will be next request you'll get 👍🤣
Welcome Matt, nothing wrong with an old Katana, had an XJ750 myself, loved it and mates had the Katana.
Ah yes spent many a family holiday as a young kid at Hervey Bay. We used to rent a duplex a street back from the beach in Urangan. I can still remember the twin tub washing machine. Funny the memories that leave an impression. Fishing for whiting from the pier (they were abundant that long ago) was part of our daily routine.
Mum's family is from Maryborough so yeah I've spent a lot of time up that way. I was even on the cover of the Maryborough Chronicle one Christmas with my shiny new 'chopper' bicycle. :rofl2:

My old man had a twin tub, worked fine 'till the spinner drum let go, washing machine ended up in a different postcode..
Twin tubs are still the only washers I've ever known get all the dog hair out of a wash.
Oh & welcome.
I once had twin tub, worked fine. One wash the spinny disc in bottom cracked, created a knife edge. It shredded every piece of clothing in that load.
Er, im going to change my welcome from "Welcome Matt" to "Welcome Twin Tub" never seen a welcome thread turn into a washing machine discussion, but hey, first time for everything.
Guess Matt has gotten a welcome and a nickname all in one thread, this place never ceases to give.
If Matt fits a clear clutch & ignition cover then his 14 will look like a twin tub too, that'll bring the thread full circle.
Very good Hooli 👍👍

Mate the place has changed a lot over the years. It's not the quiet cheap rural coastal villa of old now. Was great years ago. 🍺
