Title: MOT
Post by: Mick_J on Saturday, 20 January 2024, 02:07 AM
Bit of a pisser today, checked the bike over two days ago before my MOT and everything was fine.  Took it in this morning for the test and got an advisory on one of the rear lights, one of the filaments on one bulb blown, bummer.  Now I have to find out how to replace the bulb.

Seat off, tool kit out, turn the bulb holder 90 degrees (anti clockwise I think) and pull it out.

Might just be a dirty connector on the bulb.
I need to do Emma's every year just before the mot (then it lasts about a year) still on the original 2006 bulbs.

forgot to add:
- read manual how to get seat off
- faff about with key in ducktail
- blow  cobwebs out

Then,
- lock keys in under seat tray
- faff about finding spare key
- read step one...

Mick, just buy some cheap led globes, you get lots of practice changing them as they blow one after the other. Not sure how i know this😎

Bulb was well knackered, filament sat at the bottom in two bits (That would be the top for you down below).  Replaced both bulbs and secreted a spare in there as well, all contacts were clean and free of corrosion.  Just annoyed as I checked it two days before.
