Hi everyone, Hope your all ready for the fatman to arrive and get all you wanted.
I was after the CORRECT battery dimensions for my 1400 as the last 2 I've bought online are to tall and I'm unable to fit the storage box under the seat. I ordered for the bike and model but still to tall SO what should the correct height be for my K3?. T.T.T
Did you buy one with the correct code on it ?
I got my last ones from Tanya batteries no problem at all .
Just been out and measured my battery,as it's on the optimate at the mo, and it's 140 mm high. All I can see on it, without pulling it, is JMT.

YUASA YTX14-BS (That's the one I got. Over 4 years and still going strong. The cheapo the po put in - not that cheap as he paid 18€ more than I did for the YUASA - lasted 3 years):
Length (mm) 150
Width (mm) 87
Height (mm) 145
And yes, it fits the 14.
YUASA YTX14H-BS has same dimensions but more CCA (240 vs. 200)
This lithium fits perfectly, has more CCA than agm or wet batteries and weighs next to nothing.

I'll have to see if they ship to NZ when the time comes.
Just had a look & these are avail in NZ, that particular one is $250 here.

Something wrong somewhere Dwain, should fit. SSB in mine, just sealed lead/acid,first one i got off them failed just out of wrty, he gave me a new one👍This ones been good. Was about 1/2 price of others.
@dwain dibley. If you are using that exact battery then the problem you are having is that the terminals are in the wrong position, so your battery is back to front and my guess is that the cables sit on top of the battery in order to be attached, am I right??,if so it's no wonder your tray doesn't fit. Just my two penneth worth, hope that helps :onya:
Mines 145 high
Width 150
Depth 85
Thought it would have battery strap to hold it down but it doesn't, maybe that's the job of the tray.
Need a new live terminal cover though as its falling apart.
Size is important then :rofl2:

It's not the size it's how you use it (or something like that )

My positive is where your negative sits if your picture is correct
My battery fits fine, I was supplying a measurement for the OP, and showing the make of battery that fits my K3.

Well this thread is very confusing, time to drink more beer
I'm with grog. Yuasa batteries are awesome!
+1 on the Yuasa.
I've got a YTX14H-BS on my K7 which measures 150mm x 87mm x 145mm and it fits snugly in the battery tray.
Cheers all :-)
I've had a fair bit of bother with yuasa batteries
They aren't what they were I had 2 changed within a year under warranty.
That might have been down to the early stages of stator failing .

It happens I guess with all batteries
@seth however, on the BMW GS forum I'm on, many GS owners are fitting Yuasa's as replacements for the OEM Exide's (me included) - which also happen to be the same battery as used on the 14.
I think with some of the "failings", it comes down to how well the battery has been maintained by the vendor prior to sale - having had one "new" battery on my GS which was almost flat when I first got it home (due to not having been maintained by the vendor over the 6 months since first charged), I always check the date of manufacture / charge and if more than a month or so, decline the battery
That's true barmy the 2 the failed came from halfords so no idea how they were stored the last replacement seams to be OK so far .
The r/b bike is currently back running a 17 year old original and still going strong lol
Yuasa on my 14 and Beemer :onya:
Yuasa on mine too.
Sorry for the delayed reply chaps, I ordered my batteries from the internet including Tanya batteries but for some reason they are all to tall for the tray to go in over. it's a real pain as I can't put my locks and chain under the seat now. Thanks for the replies tho.
Yuasa were pretty expensive when I wanted a Batt here in NZ So I popped down to Repco here in town........ Katana Batt same size as original and only $120 .
12 mths warranty so I figured it was worth a punt ???/
A winner Mate, made by Century/Yuasa. Same batt as Yuasa with 1/2 the cost. Even a nice Suzuki name👍
