Title: Scan tool
Post by: KiwiCol on Sunday, 10 December 2023, 03:40 PM
Since this is an off topic thread, have you guys any comments on the attached scan tool links?  I'm looking at another one specifically for the Merc.

https://www.foxwelldiag.com/products/foxwell-nt710

and

https://www.ebay.com/itm/115484155556

The 809 appears to be an all vehicle scanner with BT connectivity and the 710 the same abilities but limited to just 1 brand.    Any thoughts?

Sorry Col,know nothing about Foxwell. My work one is Autel, about 10x price of that one. Works well, has stuffed up a couple of times, upgrades cost.About $150 per year. Free upgrades a big plus for 710, just check the fine print.Gets great reviews.

I have used Foxwell, great product, however even the multi- brand vehicle one could not talk to my BMW K1300GT motorcycle, apparently different comms.  I have used it to talk to my Jeep and my Land Rover successfully though.  Personally I think the multi brand unit would be the best bet, you should be able to upgrade certain modules if you need to code certain features into your Mercedes.
