2001 had bike for 8 months never missed a beat till about 5 weeks ago. Rode to work bike died flat battery charged it up two days later flat battery that went on for a week or so put a new rectifier on no change , new battery no change , new stator ! No change battery is no charging a tall. Need advice help magic spells fairy dust any help greatly appreciated
Given what you have changed - stator, rectifier and battery - then it would seem that the fault is in one of two categories. Either there is a break in the charging wiring system (somewhere) or the charge is going straight to earth (so a live wire touching earth). From what you have described, I suspect the former, so would suggest working through the charging wiring system with a meter to see what you can find.

Did you test the system before you played parts darts with it? if so what was wrong?
Just follow the test plan in the workshop manual you can download from here. Roughly speaking it's prove output from the stator, then prove it gets to the reg/reg, prove it comes out the reg/rec & then it gets to the battery.
I can't work out how to down load it :whatever:
Click the link in the middle with the filename, I agree it's not clear.
