I thought I would let you know how my latest visit to the Perth Magistrate Court to fight a speed camera fine went and why the whole thing is a scam set up to make you pay.
Once called up to make my plea the magistrate gets all upset because I am challenging their digital photographer (butt kissing prosecutor waving his picture around) and she is trying to talk down to me all fire and brimstone saying I need this, that and the other. She implied I didn't know what I was doing and I would be convicted (nicely impartial there) if I went ahead.
When she finally finished I confirmed the not guilty plea and asked if I could speak (I had some colourful things to say about her attitude but I bit my tongue). Looking directly into her eyes I informed her of time in 2014 when I challenged a camera fine the Police discontinued the case and posed my question, "Do I need a not guilty verdict to be reimbursed for my time wasted by the Police, as I am self employed"?
She said only Lawyers I employ would be able to be claimed so when I stated that I am required to pay $450 to fight a $100 fine! Well she looks down and shuffles her bits of paper sheepishly saying "well that's the system".
So there it is, the Police department will give you a fine and accept no responsibility for costing a member of the public money and wasting their time, all because out to the 60-80 million dollar's accumulated from fines, they will not pay one person to check they're valid.
Pay $100 tax to a corrupt organisation or lose $900 income fighting it.
To the photo in question, this one is not as clear cut as the last camera fine I challenged as part of the speeding ambulance in the background is obscured by bushes. However the target box still covers where the wheels and number plate would be. I know as a certainty that I wasn't speeding due to location, there are specific hazards unseen here but is why I am in the right lane and not the left.
Anyway, Fuckem, it was always about the money.
Same everywhere they use cameras.
None in USA to my knowledge.
Bloody cameras, everywhere the mongrels. 74 in a 70 zone, that pissed me off. 😡
Today i rode as fast as i could go in a 60 limit, no camera got me. Totally enjoyed that feeling, 3 ks to shops n back. Truthfully, got my Wife a mobility scooter, that was my test ride, 6kph flat out.
6kph sound low for one of those Grog, should be up to 15 at least. Did ya have it in fast mode?

Scum of the earth, it's people like you who give us bikers a bad name :clapping:
Sometimes it's good going slow :hat:
All the best ... Barry
Col, didnt know this but 10kph is the legal limit in Oz for a mobility device. Guess theres a law for everything. You can actually buy one that does nearl 30. That would be interesting on the tracks i took today, jumping off intersections etc. Mate i often ride with at golf has his buggy powered up, i reckon it could out accelerate my 14, bloody quick.
@Batkwaka 100% agree. Stupid system set up to prevent people from fighting it.
