Title: Back to genuine seat shape
Post by: SpongeBob on Friday, 08 September 2023, 08:31 PM
Hi all,

Thanks to the willingfull help of a local upholstery shop, I'm looking to convert a sculpted "comfort" seat (commonly seen Bagster made) back to its original height and general aspect, however with nice Bultex foam as padding, so to avoid the usual excessive softness of the OEM seat near the front part of it, especially when they get some mileage.

As I do not have a regular model at hand or near me, would some you you with an original seat be so kind and take some photos from above and the sides, possibly some with a ruler next to / onto it so that we can make it back to as close as possible to the orginal one?

Thanks, all.

Hi, just seen this, not a section I'd normally look in.

I've got hospital this morning, but I'll post up a few pics of both a seat and the bare foam (I think) later on today for you.

All the best ... Barry

Ok, dug out the original seat and also the original foam from the seat I did myself.

If you paid postage both ways, I'd be happy to send you the original foam for the seat so you don't need to try and estimate it from photos.

I want it back, without any more damage than the slight damage it already has, in case I ever decide to switch back!

<EDIT> someone beat me to the pics

All the best ... Barry

Many thanks for your kind offer Barry. As you can guess, I'll start with Phill's pics, as the upholstery shop just called me today they have already started working on it, from complete bike photos they found on the net, so I'll see if that's enough to get some results.
But I keep your offer in mind just in case it's required.

Cheers,
Renaud
