We had a heavy shower whilst I was out on the bike last week..
I remember thinking "Strange, my foot feels wet"..
Could this be the reason?

OMFG YOU SCROOGE
Put a plastic bag over your sock, years left in that.
Mine have worn on the side, very similar, but not the sole. I'm in the market for new boots as well, I've always had touring boots, no need for track boots.
Looks like your old tyre Speedy :whistling:
Stop using the Fred Flintstone braking method.
So you didnt see my post in adding picture.
I just recently bought a new pair of boots after my old ones failed.
Got cool ones rather than waterproof ones - a decision I may regret at some point....
Two mates recently got new boots , one revitt and the other RST, both complaining bitterly about not being able to change gear, looking at both sets they are very thick soled compared to older boots, RST guy moved his on and got his old BMW boots repaired instead
Yeah, leaning towards BMW boots...
My latest boots are TCX very stylish & waterproof
The finish is the best I've experienced
I'll stick with my Altberg Hoggs, I can't see me ever going back to race boots.
Altberg are the boots for me as well, I've used them since the early 90's.
Never heard of them. Not unusual downunder though
'Made in Yorkshire' so they say, there's also an Italian factory maybe final assembly here or something.
I've got these ones https://www.altberg.co.uk/boots/dual-use11/hogg-all-weather-original Bar the semi-seized gearbox & rough pedal on that Sprint I had tearing the top layer of leather on my left toe they hardly wear. I'm putting two pairs of laces in a year though, but I can live with that.
GSX, i do like the look of TCX Pulse boots. Not a fan of big bulky lace ups.
Mine have laces & full side zips, set & forget. Waterproof membrane over the ankles. You'd only get wet if water got in where your leg fits in.
Factory in Yorkshire makes all the bike boots, other factory makes all the military boots as they need thousands of pairs of them Yorkshire factory not up to the production numbers.
🥾 mine are called Hero WP
I've tested the Water Proof part 👍👍
They're very comfortable also
Decided im over big heavy bike boots, worn them all my life. This time going lighter, no water proof, not caring, have over boots. Big change for me. Reckon ill like them. Current ones are work certified, ill just wear them out at work. https://shop.sunstatemotorcycles.com.au/tcx-pulse-black.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwnMWkBhDLARIsAHBOftrMfjStazPafgLAC-rJxGbsgRsJKuOJI8EnZla46tJtdz6_j_Q3qx0aAqawEALw_wcB Made in Italy, owned by Dainese, should be quality.
Whatever you wear as long as its good sturdy boots is fine, not like the bloke I followed yesterday with slip on plimmies, shorts, T-shirt and no gloves riding a Rocket Three.
Get similar all the time around here. What are plimmies?

Plimmies = Plimpsols = Canvas sneakers (cheap arse smelly things . . .)
These are mine
Pics---none
I really need a new pair!
Mine are cheap RST's and worn out but they are so nice to wear.

I'm not the sportiest rider but I do prefer proper sports style boots. Definitely no heel blocks, no laces, no chunky tread etc. just a slim boot with a pretty flat smooth sole. So nice for up and down shifts without a big chunky boot, so nice to move around on the pegs without a heel.

These were bought as an impulse buy long ago but have been so nice to use and are still really comfy even if at the end of their life. My next pair will be a very similar style.
I jump on the bike in my steel toecap builders boots to move them or just try them up and down the driveway and it's like trying to type in boxing gloves! I find thick soles or chunky heels awful.

That's how I felt to start with wearing my Altbergs, didn't take too long to get used to it & I find them easy to ride in now.
You want boots you can't work out how people ride wearing them, a mate rides her 14 in 2" soled NuRocks. Means she can reach the floor on it...
I like 2-way quick shifters. Moving the foot above and below and having a "feel" for the lever makes a big difference. 20 years in builders boots and huge amount of work commuting I just never felt the same. Less so if I'm doing long hauls or just cruising around but it makes a big difference in some circumstances.
Each to their own. Just what works for me.
Today boots i want on certain bike shop website. Id like to try them on so rang that same local shop. Bloke on phone basically told me i was a frogwit, no such model as that. Told him on website, ive got it correct, he still payed out on me, thats the end of buying from them.
Too right Grog, not worth spending your hard earned where someone doesn't know what they're stocking.
I'm tempted to buy my next set of boots online, I'm really liking the TCX Baja WP or Clima Surround
Eric, just one thing i wont buy online, boots. Just want some Summer boots. Now changed to RST. Shop 50 k down the road, will go Saturday. TCX was my first choice, annoyed me for sale service. https://www.mxstore.com.au/p/RST-Frontier-Black-Red-Shoes/RSBS274613242-c?gclid=Cj0KCQjw4s-kBhDqARIsAN-ipH0QuEWtqrDkeu7TtcmImK_anL5U6nji2nEIJO7CIr9wkCt5FpWX5n4aArVvEALw_wcB
Cheers mate, yet to find who in Perth stocks TCX. Won't buy bmw boots from bmw dealer for the same reason as you just said, even though they're great boots.
Are you sure your from Lancashire Speedy and not from yorkshire
