Sad news which angers me.
Reports that Chinese have recently been caught running a scrap recovery ship from 29 Dec 2022 till 23rd May 2023, when discovered and boarded by Malaysian authorities, on the sites of the wrecks and war graves of HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse.
The battlecruiser HMS Repulse and battleship HMS Prince of Wales were sunk on Dec 10, 1941, two days after the Japanese invasion of Malaya. These wrecks are the resting place to most of the 800 killed when these ships sank and are designated war graves.
British govt condemns desecration of sunken warships, thanks Malaysian authorities for taking action.

https://twitter.com/evostox/status/1...8Dg_ewzQ8poJtQ - Video showing a 5.5" Anti Aircraft gun from HMS PoW being dumped into scrappers dock in Malaysia.
These scrappers and this particular barge / company have now been caught doing this to a number of war graves, and keep on doing it.
Apparently the same thing happened to HMS Exeter in 2016.
Simply no respect.

Don't get me started !!
Words fail me :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:
Those are the best pics I've seen of the theft so far.
I know every country has some pretty crap history somewhere on its books but this is 2023 and anywhere with half a grasp on civilisation should be doing better.
Chinese often appear to be pretty low on morals as far as nature, foreigners, the environment etc go, this only confirms many folks view of them.
I was just having a read up on it. Some of the posts go back several years and tell of the scale it's been done at.

They got lots to grin about. To much to list. But this one I think I need to mention:
China National Chemical Corporation, commonly known as ChemChina, is a Chinese state-owned chemical company. In 2015 they aquired Pirelli (Italia) and with it Metzeler (GER)and Armstrong (USA). More or less quickly production is moving to China.
The Chinese are proper arseholes, not content trying to shag the planet while slowly taking it over they are disturbing war graves, If I could buy non Chinese goods I would but then I would have to live in a cave in the outer Hebrides, but then I would have no food because the jocks forgot to replace the ferries these islands rely on.
If I have a choice of products I buy I will ask where it's made. First choice is NZ, second is Aussie, third choice is anywhere but China. The Chinese do not give a fat rats arse about anyone but themselves.
Well said Mr Kiwi !
Andre, must have a look to see where last set of Angels were made.

Agree.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if the chinese get into the ferry business in the outer Hebrides.
Pirelli def in Chinese hands 4-5 years no plants closed but new factory built in China super cheap labour

Folk seem to like them so them may be perfect for someone. Rear is in a 55 which I'd normaly want but not on this bike.
Had a look today, both Angels made in Germany
My Mitchy road 5's are made in Spain.
This is sad but the reality is it is our morality that is offended and we pick and choose what to be offended by. Australia, UK & USA all chose to invade Iraq with the intent of raping its resources, regardless of the rhetoric they were spouting. An estimated 5 million people died as a result and still I've heard nothing about war crimes. Bush, Blair & Howard should all be on death row as far as I'm concerned.
Australia itself has a history of mining in Aboriginal Burial Grounds and specifically the Rio Tinto decision to blow up caves with Paintings supposedly thousands of years old for no other reason than money.
Saddest thing is we can do something about it but as long as we allow ourselves to buy cheap goods and allow politicians to take donations from Chinese interests, we are just as responsible for Chinese Political Power.
By the way, we saw yesterday in Western Australia, you do not have the right to peaceful protest so if you want to protest Chinese political power in WA, too bad.
super cheap labour has not translated into cheaper prices - how mysterious.

It Translates to bigger markup and greater profits.
