Title: Landsborough Boys
Post by: grog on Monday, 29 May 2023, 06:40 PM
I live in a very small town, so big to have two locals have great results in USA. Looking at winners list, seeing Landsborough as home, love it. https://www.fullnoise.com.au/fullnoise-news/lawrence-brothers-make-american-motocross-history-at-opening-round-of-2023-pro-motocross-championship/

Aussies taking it to the world!
Queenslanders taking it to the world!

Good stuff.

The one from near me is. Steve Spark. Boxing at an international level now, 16 wins out of 19 fights with a 74% knock out rate. Double hard b@stard !  Not a huge boxing fan but it's nice to see a local lad do well.

The winter sport guys surprise me the most.
Aussies punch way above our weight on population percentage think Gardner Doohan et Al.

Absolutely. For an Aussie to be up to World Class is a big deal when you look at the population of countries like the USA or the backing sportsmen get like riders in Spain etc. For a guy like Jack Miller to be mixing it with the Spanish dwarf academy riders is amazing.
