@V_i_c_i posted I can get just the plug itself landed at my place for around AUD$11.
or I can buy the whole shebang here on ebay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dealer-Mode-Switch-Tool-For-Suzuki-6-Pin-Connections-GSX-1400-2004-Onwards-/322381744531?hash=item4b0f730993:g:0kcAAOSwEetWArHa)for AUD$24 or here on ebay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SUZUKI-Dealer-Mode-Switch-Pre-03-GSXR-Hayabusa-TL1000-TLR-DL1000-GSX1400-GSX-R-/371488483062?hash=item567e7066f6:g:wbcAAOSwkZhWSriF) for AUD$30.
In short, I won't be saving any / much money doing it my way BUT I can make it 'custom' length to suit and with a latching push button rather than a toggle switch.
Does anyone know what all the wires in that plug on the bike, are?
I can't find the relevant diagram ...
I'm trying to find out not only the relevant ones for the Dealer mode bridging (that's actually in info I already posted) but if there is a 12V source there as well, for an illuminated button....
anyone?
I suspect we need "Q" to answer that Mike, I just don't know the answer. May be worth pm'ing him, as I don't think due to work he looks in very often.
Showing my ignorance here but what does it do?

Bung a multi meter over the pins & see.

Well, it's does one of two things, ya know when ya walk into a dept store & see all the TV's going & they all seem very vibrant & 'loud', yeah? well, that's cos they're set in store / dealer mode. Makes everything brighter & more saturated in colours etc, now with the bike, dealer mode does something similar, it changes the ecu program to over fuel, changes the spark advance & alters the valve opening, all of this makes the bike a bit more of a beast & thus making potential buyers more committed than they otherwise would be.
Once you get it home, of course Dealer mode has gone & you're left with just the 14 as it is, adding this toggle switch, allows you to access this 'dealer mode' at will, course, your gas mileage will go down, but she'll handle & perform much better.
Or, flicking this switch (once installed) will display the error code in the speedo LCD screen - possibly.
I prefer the original scenario myself. Just sayin.
I had a play with my Dealer Mode Switch yesterday as the F1 light came on as I was riding home.
1. Red light came on so I panicked, stopped and turned ignition off because for a second I thought it was the oil warning light!!
When I restarted the bike the F1 light was off again.
2. F1 light came on again a bit later on, so with the engine still running I put the DMS to the "ON" position. Fault code C31 was displayed.
3. I've concluded that as soon as the ignition is turned off, the error code clears and is not stored because if you restart the bike and activate the DMS again, if the fault has been rectified it just shows C00 in the display..Which is "No Fault".
I've checked all the wiring diagrams I've got here and not one of them shows the Dealer Mode Plug!!
I'll have to go out to the shed in a mo and see if I can trace what wires are in the connector AND what each one is.
Think there's a list of error code here somewhere, Dave barmy will know what C31 is - or where to find out.

Ta Kiwi.
C31 is Gear Position Signal/GP Switch. I think I've sorted it..The fault has cleared anyway :onya:
correct :notworthy:
@VladTepes Just done this for you Vlad if it's any help?
Can't believe how dirty that plug is considering I just rebuilt the bike...Shame on me
There are only 4 wires going into the plug.
1.Black/White...To Dealer Mode Switch -ve.
2.White/Red.. To Dealer Mode Switch.
3.Grey/Red... Ignition switched 7.5V +ve.
4. Orange/Green...Ignition switched 12V +ve.
Thanks Froudy !!!!

There must be a hell of a lot of sand & grit on your roads Froudy, it's hard to believe alright. Unless you been down the beach doing a Burt??
The grit get washed around everywhere when I ride in the rain :furious:
Now doing a Burt down on the beach could be interesting and fun :onya:

Connector is from http://www.easternbeaver.com/ for 5 bucks, switch is from alliexpres for 1 buck.
As ever a top job :onya:
Thank you Seth :hat:
Sorry for photo quality. Phone and bad light :whatever:
How did you wire it in to the plug under the seat ?
I have a Suzuki switch never fitted it as we have 3 gsx1400 so keep it in my tool box.
I'd fit 3 switches is it looks a good add to the bikes.
I used original connector and just click them to diag socket :onya:

Great I've seen eastern beaver before cheers .
Looks tidy but is it worth it for an FI light I only see once every 4 years or so.
Not really but very handy if the fi light comes in and your away from your garage .

Depends on the point of view. Cost me 6 bucks and 2 hours job. But can save me on trip far away from home. It's worth it.
Fair enough. I've got a 3" bit of wire with the ends stripped that lives in the 1/4" socket seat under the seat for the same purpose.

Not sure if I'm posting in correct thread .. but
I attempted again to go into dealer mode by bridging the white & black and Red & White wires on the grey plug near LHS TPS .. with ignition on all I see is F1 on the screen ... scrolling between the odometer then F1 etc etc .
:whatever: :whatever:
Sounds like you're bridging the wrong connector. The dealer mode one is near the battery & as I recall has a rubber cover over it.
Correct, its a white 2 wire plug with a black rubber dust cover, near the lhs of the battery. No need to disconnect any other plugs.
Remember that once the ignition is switched off, the code will dissapear. The ecu doesn't store codes like most modern ones.
When I was getting codes, id leave the bike running or ignition on, use the spare jey to remove the seat and then access the battery just to reach the plug. Bridging this then gives you whichever C code is causing the FI light.
Perfect Eric👍Also easiest way to check tps is correct.Little line near odometer.

I reckon your 100% correct 😁
Silly me was using the red white black white wires on the grey plug
Probably lucky Micky, didnt blow a fuse etc👍 Sometimes we need luck.
Yes .. surprising as I reckon I've used up all my luck I life
Interesting read from another forum, especially about setting up not quite as per the manual:
https://www.gixxer.com/threads/ahhh-the-good-old-herky-jerky-is-gone-with-repeatable-resulsts.185499/
Come the spring I will check mine and see if this setting works any better than standard
T250, interesting experiment for those having problems. Mine runs lovely so not messing with it.My old motto, if its not broken dont fix it.
