Just had a renewal reminder come through the post cos my licence expires in may. (Until your 70 uk licence holders must renew every 10yrs). Anyway my point is take a photo of the front and back as DVLA sometimes forget to reinstate all your entitlements, if they do and you don't notice you can lose them and you will have to start all over again. At my age I don't want to go through all that again.

I have to do mine every 5 Years.......Cos I'm Speshull.......My licence is all pretty colours too..

Licence renewed, but what a faff it was, because I don't have a passport I had to use my local post office. I hand over the form and the man scans it , so far so good. Next he comes out to take my photo and this is where the problem starts, he asks me to stand against a white wall,and takes the photo and it's promptly rejected, 2nd photo , same result rejected. I point out that as I'm completely bald a white wall cuts off the top of my head just above my eyebrows and that's why the photo doesn't work. A slightly darker wall a few feet does the trick. I now await the arrival of my new licence :facepalm: .

I can renew for 10 years BUT have to attend the transport office in person every year so they can 'check' my medical endorsement. They won't accept a medical certificate that lasts longer than 12 months so I have to see a doctor or sometimes a specialist every year to get this bit done too.
AND I have to carry a PAPER copy of my medical certificate with me when I drive. (even when drivers licenses go digital this won't change apparently).

Such a PITA.

Every 5 yrs for me. Just got new one as was scammed in Optus hack.

Got my licence back and all entitlements too, so all is good.

I think if you do it online there's a tickbox for "I've lost the old one", I always tick that.
