Title: New Bike
Post by: Chappers on Sunday, 12 March 2023, 04:07 AM
Well I've finally picked up my first GSX and ridden it 2.5hrs home. I'm impressed that's for certain. Anyway its a one owner K6 with a full Akra fitted and a set of Yoshi cams to fit plus various other goodies. It needs a bit of tlc as been stood for 6 years but nothing a bit of powder coating and polishing won't solve. So a pic as is plus one of the old bike.

Looking good.
But would definitely change the tyres.
Had a set  on one  of my 14s that looked ok
But had a rear let go on me at motorway speeds plus a little bit.
It had delaminated the tread.
So not worth the risk

Fortunately the tyres are brand new, needed them when previous owner MOT'd it last week.

The 1400 seems to have some other accessories on the throttle, I'm curious as to what they are. I'm also curious why the Harley needs a one inch block of wood for the stand, is that normal?

Nice to see a full mudguard, so much better than an undertray.

Is that an electric Scottoiler control I see on the bars?

Yep electric scott oiler on the right, heated grip controller on the left, garmin dock in the middle. The block of wood under the hardly is to stand it a bit more upright when in the garage as they lean over a long way, made worse by the inch longer rear shocks i fitted.

I've got blocks of wood for every bike, makes much more garage space doesn't it?

I use the same trick, it also protects the floor.
