Title: When ambition outweighs talent
Post by: VladTepes on Sunday, 12 March 2017, 08:55 PM
Was just chilling at Mt Mee lookout this morning when some fella on a ZX9 decides to pop a wheelie as he left the area..... showing off.
First time - fail.  Gets back on it.. too hard... bike goes over backwards.

Luckily the bloke ended up in the ditch on the LHS of the road (so didn't cross traffic) but the ZX9 managed to somersault across the road in such a way as to damage pretty much everything !  Frame buggered too, write off. I honestly don't think I saw a single part of the bike undamaged.

Fortunately the fella was OK, but in his mid 40's he should be aware of his limitations by now.

He and a mate had only just finished building the bike the night before too....  so he was unfamiliar with its characteristics etc.

Would you like some EPIC with that FAIL ?

May not be able to see this as may be in a closed group. on FB but anyway just in case.....

No..It's a closed group

I won't ever attempt showing off like that..I can't do wheelies.
I used to be able to wheelie a bicycle when I was at school, but nine times out of ten I'd overdo it and come off the back..Don't want the same happening on my pride and joy and end up trashing it.

You tend to ride Mt.Mee a fair bit Vlad I am sure you would see plenty of nutters on the stretch to the lookout from DÁguilar.

Only ever wheelied a bike three times, all by accident, too much throttle   Each one ended with a safe landing and no harm but I wouldn't try it on purpose.

I just love pulling wheelies and stoppies with the gsx :D I've always had a soft spot for big bikes that most people consider not that good for.. ..having fun? Like dragging knee down with the lump of metal that doesnt handle that good compared to a track bike...

....but that's just me I suppose :D
