This for the kiwi's really, do you have one license for all vehicle types or are they separate?

All separate classes.

Motorbike
Passenger Car
Truck Class 2
Truck n Trailer Class 3
Truck Class 4
Truck n Trailer Class 5 (Big rigs)

Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR)
Forklift endorsements

Just goes on & on, anything they can get more money out of you for, they'll bung a new class or requirement in there.

Why you ask?  Coming down under?

I have just watched a NZ police program where they pulled this tit over for driving without a license, after a lot of abuse about not chasing proper criminals etc. they impounded his car (second car impounded for the same offence).  The idiot then said that he would have to just ride his Harley instead.
In the UK we have one license with all classes on the same one, so you loose your license you cannot drive any vehicle until the ban is over, may be required to retake the test again for certain offences which could be very expensive for bike, car and HGV.

Yep, same applies here, if you loose you're license (in a car say) you loose it for everything, Bike & truck all of it.
The guy on TV who said he'd just ride his Harley instead, was being a tosser,   :jack:   He wouldn't have a license for that either!   Halfwits (polite term) like that on the road with no license (and consequently no insurance) & no respect for anyone else, just make it more dangerous & expensive for the rest of us.

Yep like Col says. Lots here dont give a ...k about having no license. They are a law unto themselves. Tossers as you say.

Thanks lads, he came across as a complete tosser so I though I would ask the question.  If you a short arse on a Harley with a goatee, he has no license, stay clear.
